Water Woes
That I could do. This other though. "each medicine cup (1 ounce) should take 15 minutes" Ya'll it's seriously driving me insane. I trust my doc and my nut....but how is it possible? I am not setting alarms for Water during sleep. So not going to happen.

Water Woes
I'm off to bed...but I'm frustrated. I'm 10 days out. 9 if you don't count my day of surgery and my doc says to only drink 4 ounces an hour. AN HOUR. But to get in 48-64 ounces a day. HOW. Think about it logically. It would take me 16 hours to get in 64 ounces and that's ONLY if I didn't eat. You know...the whole 30 before and 30 after thing. So, give up sleep? Now I've met the 48 one a couple of times. Almost. That's only 12 hours...and it leaves room for eating! Yay! But I have a slight headache. Most all my headaches my entire life have been born of dehydration. Most of the time, I count in my Protein drinks as a Water source and they fall under my ounces. My life has become sipping water. The bad thing...I don't feel uncomfortable drinking it. I don't feel sick or in pain. I feel I could drink way more than 4 ounces an hour. in fact...I can drink an ounce in less than 5 minutes but I'm so super worried I'll rupture a stitch or stretch out my pouch. Last time I talked to him he said FIVE OUNCES AN HOUR TOPS. I have a drinking problem. HOW DO YOU ALL DO IT. Are you secretly drinking more at a time? Or do you just time everything REALLY REALLY WELL? Cuz I have to say....if I take a nap, I'm not hitting my water quota. I'm staying up late at night to get in the 40 ounce mark! Seriously. This is stressing me out.

Popcorn
Okay, I love popcorn. I wonder why some say yay and some say nay. The amount of differences between doctors is crazy.

It helps me to know that someday, it's going to be okay. I'm only 10 days out on my surgery. Most days I'm still not sure.

One month post op
You can find the thread march post op thread. It was in march right? You'll have a whole slew of people that are within that month. There will probably be a few on your surgery date.

Overwhelmed
I know how you feel. My doctor was over 100 miles away. I did most of my stuff via fax and through people in my town. Of course, I paid most of mine out of pocket so I didn't have to jump through too many hoops for it.

Getting grilled
Great thing about chat rooms, You can make a statement and leave. Just something like: Wow, I thought friends would give me some support, especially ones that have had WLS. Not my fault you chose one that didn't work for you. I chose this because I CAN"T dip 2 bags of oreos in coffee and wash em past that band. When you want to support my decision, feel free to message. Until then: feel free to go to judgmental arseholes anonymous. Thanks!

Starving
I understand your fear. BUT you have to try food sooner or later. You might google Gastric bypass soft diet and do that first. Then slowly add solid food. I'm excited to get to that point. But it's scary. Dumping and angry pouch and all. Ugh

Watermelon?
Watermelon might be my favorite food EVER. I'm hoping it still works for me. I've eaten entire watermelons by myself. :sigh: those days are over. Have you ever had a HOPE ARKANSAS one? They are supposedly the best ever. I'm planning to go to this in the next couple of years. http://www.hopechamberofcommerce.com/festival_info.htm

Hello
I chose the RNY at my surgeons suggestion. My metabolism is shot and I need the metabolic reset with malabsorbtion. Also: I have Gerd, chances of gerd are high with the sleeve. Sleeve doesn't work with everyone and we have some on the board that are a VSG to RNY revision. I liked that the RNY is the gold standard and that it has a lot of hard facts behind it while the VSG is new and has little long-term research and facts behind it. I'm a previous smoker. If I ever do get stomach cancer, I didn't like the thought of not having any stomach to play with since you lose all your excess with the sleeve. Also, I would never do it or I hope to never do it, but the RNY IS reversible. All the parts are still there. It's risky, buy if you're having enough complications, they can put it all back. It will never be "normal" but it could be an improvement. Permanently removing 80-90% of my stomach seemed just too extreme. Said the girl that has a small pouch and rerouted intestines. lol

First time here
I also had surgery on april 1st! Whatcha eating at your stage? I had pureed canned chicken with greek yogurt for lunch. And a teaspoon of pickle juice mixed in. Lord, I MISS pickles. I've always had a thing for them. It will be nice to reach a stage in this journey when I can eat a pickle.

Paying your portion of the bill...,
I have crap insurance that only covered 50% UP TO 4000. So I had to pay 12k out of pocket. Up front.

compressors/girdles
Hon, either you're elastic or you're not. Age and highest weight are a factor...I think. I can diet to a certain weight (16-18) and not have loose skin. When I go beyond that it's going to be anyones guess. I haven't been a size 10 since I was 22. I'm 38 now. So. I do not know of where you can get a girdle like that....but I saved that for me once it's all over until I can have plastics. and I do appreciate it. I've been looking for one with arms!!!!!! I found it for 117 online. Shoot. BARGAIN

Stoppes losing
I heard your body finds it's goal weight and pretty much stays there, but I don't know. Are you far from your goal? You look really good in your picture?
-
So frustrated
Oh, and I've only lost 12 lbs. I had surgery on 4.01. You get pumped full of fluids at the hospital and you just got cut and rearranged. It throws you into shock. I was feeling horrible about not having lost any by day 5. I had a lot of support from people telling me that's normal. I finally realized.....just like when I went on a diet with someone that didn't have hashimotos or PCOS, we're all going to lose at different rates. Just let your body find it's stride. It will. And I have discovered a LOVE of apple juice. I don't dilute and it doesn't bother me. I love love love love juicy juice. I also like water wtih great value sport blue with b vitamins. And dasani drops pineapple coconut. I'm taking a scoop of protein powder and mixing it in half of a premade atkins shake twice a day. That gives me 57 grams of protein. Then whatever I can choke down.
