I am living my 6 mo of supervised diet right now -
    I lost 12ish so far.
I could go into turbo ME and spend all my life working out and I will loose - but I’m just wondering how that effects/affects (i never get that word right) post rny
    I have to do:
    endoscope
    sleep study
pulmanologist (2 visits - possibly 3) -- for that alone I need to get my bottom on a treadmill
endochronoligist for a full blood panel
    psych
    nutritionist
    exercise specialist
I might be missing something here ... but I think that’s the list.
I am being watched like a hawk - and honestly - nothing makes me wanna do the things that got me here - no desire for crap - and i’ve been doing the Protein first and measuring my foods
I am having a hell of a time getting myself motivated to go to the gym - it’s my last hurdle so to speak - I just wonder (outloud) if I should be kicking this into high gear -
a big part of me knows that it will mean an easier recovery -
just wondering if anyone here has any experience with this.
Thank you for your feedback and congrats on the 69lbs - that rocks my friend.

Some (but not all) doctors and Insurance company's require you to do supervisor weight loss for up to 6 months. I'm not saying live it up for later you will pay. But now is the time before your First doctors visit. Becuse after that they will be watching you. They will require you to see a phycolegist and maybe have a sleep study done.if you smoke they will want you to Quite.
Hope you are ready for a life change Becuse that's what will happen for the better of course.
I'm 13 weeks post op and wish I had done this years ago. Day of surgery I was 290 10/30 I'm 221 lbs that's 69 lbs 56 lbs to target weight.
Hope I didn't scare you not trying WLS is not the answer to weight loss but is the key to better health that you will spend the rest of your life fighting.
Good luck on your new Journy we need all the losers we can get here on this Fourm

For so many years I don't think I saw myself as heavy as I was/am and now I just don't see myself as anything, I know that sounds nuts. I don't look in the mirror much, hate to have my pic taken. I have no idea what people see when they see me. This is all such a weird thing. I hope when I lose a LOT of weight that I will see a difference or that I will see SOMEBODY. Cause right now I just see a nobody in a big body with a very double chin, that I usually don't even want to put make up on. There are so many things that would change for me to lose the weight and to be healthy. I want to CARE about my appearance. I want to WANT to look in the mirror, I want to PROUDLY have pics taken with my beautiful grandchildren.

According to my sleep doc it depends what kind if sleep apnea you have. I cant remember what type i have and I haven't had surgery YET but according to him, losing weight can alleviate it but won't cure it. He said he doesn't even bother telling older individuals to try losing weight to get off the machine bc it doesn't change anything.
And oh my, do I miss sleeping on my belly. Don't know what you have Til it's gone lol

Great news everyone my surgery was approved! Two appeals through my insurance company, but letters from my therapist, primary care physician and my bariatric surgeon all worked. I too wrote a really thoughtful letter. I was denied twice because my surgeon and I could not make the case for the band-to-bypass revision surgery but... finally the insurance company re-examined all the letters and the evidence and came to a decision that it's actually medically necessary. Wahoo!! Just found out today the surgery is scheduled for January 21, 2013!!! Wahoo

Its been almost 5 months now. Its amazing how much I have changed. Compliments are pouring in. My self esteem is up, I feel more confident, and most of all I got my sexy back. The reason behind my decision to have this surgery was primarily my health. But ive gain more than i expected. From 375 I have lost 95lbs in such a short time. I wore a size 30, i am now my way to a size 16. Its been over 12 years since i could wear a size 16. My husband is proud of me, my children loves the new me. I'm happy!

I figured screw it- ill never eat like this again. I still managed to lose more weight after that day and my dr said surgery was text book, no complications so far, knock on wood! get back on the horse, Clear Liquids day before, what's meant to be will always be

I want a Tummy Tuck and boob lift but will be happy even if I don't... I am not having to roll and stuff anything so it's not as bad as it could be. I like the way I am looking... With my clothes on!!! I will wait a year anyway just to give my skin a chance!

I'm down 51 pounds (as of today)...So 2.5 months out from revision. I had only lost about 65 with the band...and regained all of it back (plus 20 pounds)...I'm so happy with my decision to revise

I feel you Amanda! I waited 8 months to get mine. The restrictions aren't so bad. You just have to get creative. I'm trying to incorporate Atkins into my diet. Its a life change! Have you read Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies? Its a great book!

I'm hoping to not have to have another surgery also. The only place I'm worried about is my stomach, I have a lot of upper body strength to begin with. It's like we have two body images to deal with, first the weight and then the excess skin. UGH
