harpoandcassius reacted to BriWLS in Gastric bypass rny long term
Hey everyone! I was just wondering if any of you have had this surgery done more than 10 years ago and if you could let me know how the long term affects are? I spoke to my doctor about this but he told me that there are not very many study follow ups on post op patients of more than 10-15 years. I'm curious because I am having this surgery done in April and my parents and I are more worried about the long term effects such as weaker bone or increase arthritis) as well as fighting infections if one was to get seriously sick do gastric bypass patients have the same strength ability to fight these infections ?? Sorry for such a serious thread I'm just 20 years old and I have so many thoughts about this procedure before I have it on April. Thank you

I'm trying to get into the routine of drinking an Edge drink every morning. They have 17 grams of protein. I know it's not enough But at least it's a start. I take Biotin too, and all my Vitamins. I will be 5 months post op on the 30th. Do you think this hairless will let up soon?

Good luck to those having surgery soon. I've lost 53 pounds now and my surgery was April 11. So not quite 8 weeks yet. I had the last couple weeks go slower loss , but now I started using the Unjury Protein Powder in mornings again and boom here I go again. I think the Protein powder is key and also the quality of it. So I just ordered some more. Make sure you have things to eat at home before you go to hospital. The milk and broth and Popsicles etc and also some sweat pants or comfy work out pants and clothes and shoes for walking. I could not wear jeans for a long time with incisions
