  1. Fiusha, I don't know why your insurance won't tell you! I pray for all of you waiting for approval. That was one of my big fears, along with denial, but I was REALLY blessed and mine approved while my Drs office was on they phone with them submitting my info!
  2. I started with Southern Surgical on Greenville, but after not hearing from them for 6 weeks, I switched to Bariatric specialists in Raleigh, with Dr. Tyner.
  3. Eastern North Carolina also, Princeton. Where are you having surgery?
  4. Snow, where do you live?
  5. I have lost 7 lbs in 2 days on this LRD, but I feel really week and nauseous. I am able to eat 3-4 oz of lean protein and 1 cup of non-starchy veggies at night for the first week of the 2. Then only shakes. Ugh! I have always had a problem with liquids on an empty stomach.
  6. I just started today:( The shakes are making me nausated and I don't really like jello but I am trying to eat it. I have surgery on the 20th, I hope it gets easier!! Teresa
  7. Good for you!! Go Girl!! I have my rny Dec. 20th. I pray I do as well!! Teresa
  8. My nut said after 2 weeks, I can have caffeine, only 1 or 2 cups a day!
  9. Congrats! I haven't been on here for a few days and started reading from the top. As I read, I was guessing that they may do both at the same time. I am glad for you that it will all be done that way, only one to recover from! Hugs and praying for you! Teresa
  10. How did you all do on the liver reduction diet? I do not take a fast acting insulin, all mine are long acting, and I am worried about crashing! My dr told me to stop taking all meds! That is really scary for me! Thanks Teresa
  11. Is there anyone on here or anyone that knows anyone who is still diabetic after rny? I take a truckload of meds for diabetes and am praying to resolve this problem when I have my surgery on Dec. 20th. Thanks Teresa
  12. Praying for you!! Remember to get rid of that gas!! Teresa
  13. Great!! Congrats!! I was so worried that mine wouldn't approve it and was totally amazed when I was approved the same day that my surgeon submitted! Mine had to be submitted verbally on the phone. Teresa
  14. Congrats!! The waiting is finally about over!! Teresa
  15. What they want him to do is to shrink the liver. I will be doing that for 2 weeks prior to my surgery on the 20th of December. My Dr. said 3 shakes a day and 3-4 oz of lean meat and 1 cup veggies at night for the first week. Then just 4 shakes and all the shakes have to be made with Water. I don't know if I would add any food, even an egg to the menu. I am not looking forward to it either, but if I want to get the surgery, it is what I have to do! Good luck!! Teresa
  16. Please add me to the Dec. list!!! Dec. 20th Raleigh, NC. Dr. Tyner! So excited!
  17. You had your surgery Monday right? How's it going?
  18. Wow! I am so shocked! My surgeon submitted to my insurance company yesterday and it was approved while she was on the phone with them!! Now all I am waiting for is the sleep apnea titration to come back to schedule an appointment with surgeon to set surgery date!! Amazed!
  19. I don't have on yet:( Just finished all my tests and 6 months of pcp visits. Hoping by the end of the year! Thanks Teresa
  20. Looking good!! Congrats!!
  21. I don't live there any more. We moved to North Carolina 5 1/2 yrs ago.
  22. I just saw you are in Indy! I am from a little town 35 miles east of Ft. Wayne, in Ohio. Been to and through Indy lots of times!!
  23. Thanks Vicki! I take Victoza in the am along with ameryl & metformin. At night I take both those and 130 units of insulin. It's crazy!
  24. I am an apple shape, I carry all my weight in my belly area. My legs and thighs are slim. Was anyone post op built like that? My surgeon said that I will get the most out of this surgery because of my build, but I have heard that stomach area is the hardest to loose. Just curious. I am also diabetic and very insulin resistant. Thanks
