Is there anyone on here or anyone that knows anyone who is still diabetic after rny? I take a truckload of meds for diabetes and am praying to resolve this problem when I have my surgery on Dec. 20th.

I'm only three weeks out and am off most of my medicines. I am still running a little higher than non diabetics and occasionaly will give myself 5-10 units of insulin if I go above 175, but so far so good. Can't wait to see if it gets even better with dropping the weight and when i start to eat "normal foods". I have high hopes though!!! Good luck and I hope the surgery keeps your diabetes at bay too.

I 4 weeks on and off all my meds and my numbers are great.... This surgery is a deal changer... You guys will be just fine. Day goodby to the pills.... ;0)

So my surgery was on 10/15 and I've been a diabetic for about 12 years.. My a1 c was 12 and day of surgery it was 10.. Today I take no meds and sugar is normal... Surgery was worth it

How did you all do on the liver reduction diet? I do not take a fast acting insulin, all mine are long acting, and I am worried about crashing! My dr told me to stop taking all meds! That is really scary for me!
