Hi everyone! So I'm 2 years post op and have lost a total of 110lbs with 20 more I'd really like to lose. That last 20 doesn't want to budge as easy though! ???? Anyway, tonight for supper I made a low carb spinach lasagna which was amazing and a regular lasagna for the family with garlic knot rolls. I thought I'd have a half of the roll, well it seemed to go down so easy I thought I would have the other half. And they were BIG rolls too!! Ummmm big mistake!!! I got up from the table and told my husband I needed to lay down a few minutes before cleaning the kitchen. That few minutes was more like 30 seconds and I hit the bathroom and got so sick!!! I vomited, heart was racing, face was red, broke out into a cold sweat...I felt like I'd been hit by a big truck!!! I tell you all that for this reason. I had gotten discouraged and felt like I could eat healthy or pretty much what I want now and that my pouch was simply just done. That it had served its purpose and didn't work anymore. Well tonight I found out otherwise!!! While it was a horrible experience, it lifted a weight off my shoulders too because I realized that my body just cannot handle certain foods and that it's up to me to monitor and choose carefully what I put in my body! With that being said, I'm determined to get this 20 lbs left off!! Protein here I come and if the bread basket is passed my way, I will remember tonight's terrible experience and pass with a smile. Dumping syndrome sucks with a capital S! But it did give perspective and power over bad choices which I thought I was losing. So thankful my "pouch" had the final say tonight and reminded me that just because it looks good doesn't mean it is! Good luck to all who read this and we do have the power and strength to win this battle over food and weight!! Hang in there!!!

Thank you all for responding. Your kind words, encouragement, and advice are very much appreciated. I have an upcoming appt with my dr to discuss sleep and depression. I'm very optimistic and my husband and children have been wonderful at supporting me. I'm proud to say that I've upped my Protein and do what activity I can in regards to my disability and I've upped my Water and using a food journal and so far I'm down 2.8lbs!! It's a start and I'm ecstatic over it!!! My son is overweight and we've been doing this together. He's a precious boy and is excited to be doing this as a team with mom!! I feel better today than when I originally posted this thread. I've prayed, put my best foot forward, and I'm looking forward, not behind me. Thank you all for helping me. This site is a blessing! It makes a world of difference to know I'm not alone in a crowded room, I have others that understand the ups and downs, defeats and best of all victories in this journey. I thank The Lord that He lead me here and for all of you that have taken time out to listen and offer me help. I will keep you all posted!! God bless!!

Congratulations!! And yes I know how you feel! I tried everything and bypass I believe helped save my life and my emotional state. I'm 2 years post op and down 120 lbs! I have a new lease on life! This summer was the first time I've worn a bathing suit...tankini top and skirt bottom ...in years!!! It felt amazing! I have areas I'd like to improve where I have loose skin, but in all honesty, the loose skin is not that big of a deal. I feel pretty, I feel like I'm more neat and well kept even in pjs lol, and my husband makes me feel like I'm the most beautiful woman in the world. And he also did that at my highest weight. He's always made me feel like a princess and been my encouragement. But he also sees this new lease on life that I have, as well as my kids, and they support me and root me on! It's amazing! So I say to you congratulations and you are beautiful inside and out! And I'm so excited for you and your weight loss and your accomplishment!! Keep up the great work!!! Loved reading your thread!! Thanks for letting me stop by!!! Best of luck to you!!!

    Cauliflower pizza Crust
Ingredients--- 1 cup cooked, riced cauliflower 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 1 egg, beaten 1 teaspoon dried oregano ½ teaspoon crushed garlic ½ teaspoon garlic salt olive oil (optional) pizza sauce, shredded cheese and choice of your toppings*
Instructions--- To "rice" the Cauliflower: Take 1 large head of fresh cauliflower, remove stems and leaves, and chop the florets into chunks. Add to food processor and pulse until it looks like grain. Do not over-do pulse or you will puree it. (If you don't have a food processor, you can grate the whole head with a cheese grater). Place the riced cauliflower into a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 5 minutes. There is no need to add Water, as the natural moisture in the cauliflower is enough to cook itself. When cooled squeeze out Water. One large head should produce approximately 3 cups of riced cauliflower. The remainder can be used to make additional pizza crusts immediately, or can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
To Make the Pizza Crust: Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, stir together 1 cup cauliflower, egg and mozzarella. Add oregano, crushed garlic and garlic salt, stir. Transfer to the cookie sheet, and using your hands, pat out into a 9" round. Optional: Brush olive oil over top of mixture to help with browning.
Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven. To the crust, add sauce, toppings and cheese. Place back on oven til cheese is melted and enjoy!!
****you will need to make sure your toppings are pre cooked!!

My family loves homemade pizza!! But the carbs are of course not good for us fellow bypassers, so I tried the cauliflower pizza crust. I must say it was amazing!!! It's filling, flavorful, low carb and low calorie!! It was a winner!!! I put a little sauce, some low sodium ham, beef, onions, bell peppers, and low fat cheese! I didn't even miss the crust!! As a matter of fact, we went to a local pizza place tonight for a party and I ate 1 very small piece of cheese pizza thin crust...I have felt yucky ever since!! This cauliflower crust will be my new go too!! My kids and dad were just pulling it apart eating the crust with no topping!! If you haven't tried it and you miss pizza, please do! You won't be disappointed!! I just googled "cauliflower pizza crust" and tweaked it a bit to our taste likings. I've gotten off track a bit and gained 10 lbs because of it. So I have put my foot down and am working to make whatever substitutions I can! This was a delicious sub to the fatty, high carb pizza I used to be addicted too!! Just wanted to share and be an encouragement and say that we CAN all do this and if we mess up, make a mistake, or slip back into those old habits...tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start!! Good luck to everyone!!

I'm almost 2 years post op, but I remember the cravings those first few months too. So when I graduated to solid foods I thought I want to try a happy meal because I was craving it soooooo bad. Lesson learned about 15 minutes after I tried to eat 1/2 of the burger and a few fries. I puked everywhere and more than once!! I hurt in my chest, my belly, I broke out into a sweat, my head was spinning and I realized then that there's no food out there worth making me feel that way. Dumping syndrome is no joke and I felt so sluggish after ingesting all that fat. To this day I cannot digest much fast food at all or hamburgers period and I'm ok with that. I don't need those things and my body has sure let me know it too. However, I love Mexican food. So we go out and eat there and I know what I can and cannot tolerate. I order reasonable and eat til I'm satisfied and I even enjoy a piece of pizza
When I crave it. So there are still restaurant foods I can enjoy. I just know my limit and what I can and cannot handle anymore. Good luck to you and hang in there. Those cravings get better and I found that Water, extra Protein, praying, writing in my journal, going for a walk, ect helped get my mind off of food and that pull to eat what I knew I really didn't need. You can do this and I wish you all the best!!

I have gotten my clearance from all doctors, been to the dietitian, went to both nutrition classes and am just now waiting for a call to schedule my surgery. When is it that they look to the insurance company for approval? I haven't heard anything about this part of the process...:/
