  1. Sounds like you should see your nutritionist! To still be having so many issues isn't a good position to be in... Are you trying to eat the same food you ate before surgery? If so you will be ill. I got thru most of what you listed within about 6 wks. But I don't eat anything more than 3 ounces at a time.. meat doesn't do so well. eggs are so out of the question! Slow, slow eating is essential. And sipping Water all day! Go see the dietician! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  2. I feel like this often.. I make sure I have out what I am going to eat along with what I am making for my kids.. Then I tell them they can't finish their food/meal before me... That helps all of us... Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

Haha I was just noticing the other day, that I don't have to tilt the steering wheel up to get in and out if my vehicle anymore... And the space between me and the wheel, amazing!!! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  5. Had to spend the night in the hospital for observation. My right arm went numb. So I freaked out!! The word stroke kept entering my kind and those words did come out of the Drs mouth. Not fun. So I stayed positive and had a great support team by my side. So after x-rays, a CT scan and a MRI. Along with multiple neurological tests. NO STROKE!! Praise God. Official diagnosis is Thorasic outlet syndrome. I can live with that. So now focus is back on eating right and taking care of myself. Three weeks post-op 23 pounds down . So excited Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    To Sad Right Now

The insurance co should be able to tell you why it's on hold. You are your own best advocate with the insurance co. Call them ask them what it is they need from your Dr. That way you'll be prepared also for whats to come. As for the dr office not calling you back. I am sorry but that is crap! You can also let your insurance company know they are not in compliance. Insurance co. Sometimes will have a compliance clause in the contract with PCP. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    To Tired

I rested and slept during that first week and a half as much as I could. I find that when I get enough Protein in I feel better and have more energy. Also when I take my Vitamins I feel better also. To the person talking 40 minutes walks... Maybe break that up into two 20 min sessions. I am walking at a easy pace 1.5 mph for about 25 min. I feel better when I do walk. Good luck the energy will increase. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  9. Have you tried a different brand? Muscle milk isn't too bad and the premiere brand isn't to awful either. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

  11. Your body and metabolism are in a tizzy right now. Don't stress over it. You might need to add a few calories. Remember your body thinks its starving so its going to hang on to everything it has until it absolutely has to use some energy.. I am 18 days post-op and I stayed at one number for about four days then voila 5 lbs were gone ..... Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    How Did You Decide?

I chose RNY because its a faster weight lose and more weight lose than the band. Also, I didn't want the risk of the band slipping or having to wait to get it filled after surgery and the possibility of it being under filled or over filled. My first week or so I had a hard time getting enough Protein in. But I am 18 days post-op I have lost 21 lbs I feel good and in am able to get the protein down, it take all day but I do it... Good luck to you Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  13. It's unfortunate that people are so negative about WLS. I think ignorance plays a big part in that. What I can't stand are the people who say, oh just diet, just exercise it will come off, or you just don't have he will power to do it. These ate the people who have never had a weight issue. Don't they think we've done all that. I have been eased by having such a fantastic supportive church family.. They're all rooting for me.. They want to see me healthy and that's the most important part, who cares about saggy skin, boobs and butts?! I tell my sons, I would rather be healthy and saggy than fat and unhealthy. That the bottom line. We have done this for ourselves and our health not anyone else and their negative self serving comments. Stay away from people who drag you down!! 14. The specialties surgery center at U of W, which is where I went, place all Bypass patients in ICU for the first 24 hours. Which I was thankful for. My heart rate and blood pressure were a bit elevated. So I stayed a day and a half. Which was fine.... I also had to have extra tests.. Which in turn delayed surgery.. Boo!! I had to do a gastric emptying test. They thought I might of had gastoparesis. Didn't but better to be safe than sorry.. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  15. I am 17 days post-op.. I didn't own a scale.. I have no idea about my weight loss... Which is a bit frustrating!! So I broke down and bought one. I don't think the scale fairy wants me to get on it.. It was suppose to come with batteries but it didn't.. So off to get some. Scared to get on it though. Afraid it will show no weight loss...
