Any Born Again Christians?
slowtogo replied to lovedXJesus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a pastor - and had weight loss surgery. While I don't share the how - I do share the weight loss. It made me healthy again. The question of how does faith interfere with the decision process to me is like asking a cancer patient if they are gonna do chemo if they are a christian. What does that have to do with it? -
You know you've had WLS when ___________________ ! ! ! ^_^

Not Even a Bite of Wedding Cake?
slowtogo replied to BeccaE1's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Depends on how it affects you. A bite won't hurt you even if you dump most of the time. But it's almost a year away. -

For me its sandwiches. I am over two years out. Gluten free- but it can only eat about 1/2 of one. More and I'm in trouble. Nothing else bothers me.

Gluten Intolerant and Sleeve, Anyone have and advice?
slowtogo replied to Mini Me Wanna~Be's topic in Food and Nutrition
I don't think this is quite right. Corn does not affect gluten intolerant people. It is still often genetically modified, But that is a different problem. I am gluten intolerant and corn has never bothered me or my gluten intolerant friends. -

Tips from success stories
slowtogo replied to chefkelly's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Sounds like what they did in Detroit. -
You might want to try sugar free syrup - tastes similar and will minimize your possibility of dumping

The stalls are normal you just have to stay with the plan. After the first few months the weight loss really slows. I am almost two years out. I now weigh 149. The last year I have only lost 11 lbs. But that's ok. It's still going down.
