    Laying Down Position

I have a question. Does anyone else suffer from terrible breath? My husband asked me to talk to my doctor about it but I figured I'd ask here first.

    Donated Mine

I just went through my closet tonight for the first time. I am 3 months out and down 65 pounds. I have no clothes!!! I am shopping at the local thrift shop this week. Can't imagine spending a lot of money on clothes I will be getting rid of in another month or two. Pants are now an 18 from 24. Shirt is size XL from 3x.

    Nervous

    Nervous about what?

    Drinking

My surgeon said no alcohol for a year. I am fine with that. The way I see it, we put our body through so much to get healthy. Why would we add a toxin in that will tax it even more? Especially our livers. It's just not worth it to me.

    Is Frozen Yogurt Ok?

@Moofish. Yes I had Dr. Streeter. Great experience so far.

    New Physical Activities!

One of my goals was to go on a hike with my boys. I did it this past weekend! We did a 3 mile hike through a hilly conservation area on Cape Cod. My 17 yr old son said he was proud of me. He was surprised I took them because last year I wouldn't have even thought of doing something like that! Next goal: running in a 5k!

    No More Medications

You could come to my house. I have some painting and dry walling to do!!!
  9. I tell people who ask or comment on my weight loss. I am very proud of myself. It took a lot of courage to take this step. I am healthier now than I ever was before surgery. And sometimes letting people know about my surgery makes it easier to get what I need for myself.

    Just Curious

After a while it's easier to drink. I can drink regularly and not just sip. So getting in my water is no problem anymore. I use Unjury protein powder. Love it. The vanilla mixed into lite V8 fusion is awesome!

    Normal

I had my surgery on 6/6/12. I feel pretty normal. Actually I feel better than normal. I have energy. I like the new normal I am feeling. Tomorrow will be 3 months and I am down 58 pounds. The only time I feel bad is when I eat too fast or eat something that doesn't agree with my pouch. Then I throw up! But it gets better quickly.
  12. Yeah! I can't wait to see you there! Onederland here I come.

    Veggies And Fruit Puree

I didn't use any fruits that have seeds. Also can't eat oranges because of the fiberous insides. But canned pears, peaches etc in water were yummy and no problem.

How To Ask For Government Help

I would contact your credit cards directly. Explain that your income is being cut due to divorce and you need a payment plan. Most will work with you, stop or cut interest rates and give you a payment you can handle. Even if they don't, at least they would know you are strapped. Then forget about it and take care of yourself and your kids. I have 2 sons with autism and one with anxiety issues. I always put them before anyone or anything else.

    Veggies And Fruit Puree

I think so. I did and I am fine.
  17. I use Any Whey protein powder. I can't taste it. I mix it with V8 fusion lite. It's yummy.
  18. I went to San Francisco 2 weeks after surgery. It was the same kind of conference. Breakfast meeting-lunch-meeting-dinner for 3 days. I did great. They had a buffet for lunch which included soup, fish, Pasta etc. I chose the fish and soup. I put the soup cup right on my plate to take up space. At dinner I ordered an appetizer crab cake made with no extra butter or sauce and a side of mashed potato. Only ate a bit of each but it was yummy. As far as questions are concerned, there won't be as many as you think. If someone asked I told them. Straight out. I am proud of my decision to get healthy and to use RNY as a tool to get there. People were positive and supportive.

    Vitamins!

I take Disney Princess chewables! Might as well have some fun with the vitamins ! And I am a princess so why not?
  21. I had those pains too. They turned out tone a combination of incision pain and gas! They pumped us full of gas to do their work and it hurts when it all has to get out if there. My doctor told me to take pain meds as scheduled even if I felt like I didn't need them and use a heating pad on my lower back to ease the pain. I can still remember limping through the auditorium at my son's awards night 5 days post op and a woman asking me if I needed help. I of course said no because that's what I do. Then I wished I had said yes when it took me 20 minutes to make it to the car!! So accept help when you need it. Don't be stubborn like me! That motorized cart would have been a Godsend for me that night, that is if I humbled myself to use it!

    Nexium

My surgeon had me taking Prilosec for 30 days. I'm off it now. No issues and down 52 pounds since June 6, 2012.
  23. The hardest thing is this underlying feeling of uneasiness. I think it's from not processing feelings. I used to eat when I was upset. Now I don't. So I need to find something else to help me cope. Working out helps. Talking helps. I think it's time to start that counseling they talked about in class. 9 weeks out and -50 pounds.

    Never?

I am able to eat tortillas. I bought corn tortillas and made a quesadilla with Lofat cheese and canned chicken. It was good. I used the taco sized tortillas.
