  1. It's weird that we know the second we swallow if we chewed it enough or not! But saddly by then its too late its happened to me twice and its not fun. Surgery 7/25/12
  2. Wow you look great! Great things to look forward to.
  3. That's right around the corner! I did not come home with any tube or anything. I don't know what measures or determines that, but I didn't and neither did anyone I know of who has used the same surgeon. All the luck!
  4. Hey we are all on the same bench! I'm only getting in max 500 cal a day and only about 40-50 grams of protein. I drink all my water and lately it has to be just water nothing with flavor. I have been on the dehydration side and its not fun. My Dr wasn't worried about the calorie # as much as eating and snacking constantly... Healthy of course. Even if its just a string cheese. So that has been my mission eat something every 2 hours. 7 almonds has 7 grams of protein!
  5. At one month post op (now) I was given the okay to eat salad. I agree its a waste of space I really just pick off the protein and egg I throw in there. I had to find a dressing with less than 5 grams sugar. I found a yogurt ranch & yogurt blue cheese with 1 gram sugar and 1 protein and they taste great (for all the salad lovers out there) its by Marie Calendars.

  7. So I live near a mountain that people often walk it has some flat trails, steep trails, and some up and down ones too. Saturday I walked up an up/down and thought I was going to die. At one point tears were rolling I was going to give up but my car was too far to just stop... I had to keep going to get back to my car. Took a day off and went back today and did the steep side... I thought I was going to die! But i took my mom and lil sis for support... I had to stop several times I said I can't over a hundred times, cursed, and keep going. I DID IT AGAIN! It's hard trucking this body up, and I wanted to stop but I did it. I can't believe it. Just had to shout from the mountain top (RNY talk) my excitement! Wednesday I'm going back!
  8. Thank you very much! I have been on a mission trying to find a good one in taste and nutrition value. I'm going to get some
  9. Did great today:) everyone had the sweetest things to say. Of course people had questions... But I sipped my crystal light and made sure I ate something every 3 ish hours. I feel good. Looking forward to a walk with the hubby later <3

  16. Saw this on pintrest & became obsessed It's a great way to give my 2 yr old somethint healthy too.
  17. Today I did frozen pineapple, half a banana, spinach, ice, water, and scoop of vanilla protein... This was my fav pre op. Post op with protein wasn't bad- just not the same. & you don't taste the spinach! You can also substitute blueberries for bananas. I just made way to much I need to learn how to make an 8 oz not whole blender! Lol
  18. I'm going back to work tomorrow after being off for one month. I can't lie, I'm scared out of my mind. I work hard and never take breaks I often have lunch meetings when reps bring in [delicious] bad food. We always have Starbucks runs, donut boxes, and enough energy drinks to move a mountain! I am packing my lunch, snacks, and have my crystal light and protein bars.... But its going to be hard. I can't ask everyone in my office to not bring that stuff in, its my personal choice not theirs, but how do I deal? Back to the grind tomorrow!
  19. Oh I also went wheat on everything Bread Pasta Brown rice As my Dr said "if its white its not right"
  20. Hi! 389 was my starting weight too.... Get on myfitnesspal and set your calorie max to 2500 or lower (that's where I started and moved down to 1700 every 2 weeks). I also exercised 4 days a week for 30 min just walked on treadmill and did biggest loser dvd walking video. No soda and drink 64 oz of water daily. I lost 30 lbs.
