I had terrible reflux with the sleeve and unsatisfactory weight loss. Sind my MGB with Dr. Illan I am losing and no more reflux.

Oh I also need to change my ticker, I now weigh 123 lbs & don't want to lose anymore weight! Never thought I would say that!!!

Hello, I'm so sorry to hear that you are not doing well! I posted in this thread a month or so ago. I'm still having reflux issues but have put off the bypass surgery.. I am now done to 123 & don't want to loose anymore weight! Never thought I would ever say that in my life..
I still take my Prilosec & have good & bad days!

I also have severe reflux & need to take Prilosec & Zantec dailey. Had sleeve done July 2012 in Mexico & have had difficulty eating & drinking since then! Also got a C Diff infection & was hospitalized twice last year for it. I ended up seeing an infectious disease doc & finally tested negative for C Diff in Dec 2012..I have had an EGD with dilation & the surgeon I saw last year in the United States wanted me to do an EGD with a bravo monitor.. She discussed that I may need to convert to a gastric bypass.. Anyway I kept putting the second EGD off because I was dealing with the C diff issue & had missed a lot of work! I cant stand this reflux, vomiting everyday.. & Im also lactose intolerant now! I have an appt with the surgeon tomorrow to discuss any options I may have.. So far my insurance has covered everything that was done last year, no issues.. I was self pay for sleeve in Mexico. Glad to read about this issue in this forum! I am happy with my weight loss, just tired of vomiting daily..

I will be 1 year out in July 2013.. Had surgery in Mexico with Dr Garcia.. Yes I did have issues but have lost over 70lbs.. This is the smallest I have ever been.. It feels so good to buy clothes !

I was sleeved 7/9 with Dr Garcia.. I sent a deposit & brought a cashiers check with me. I brought the cashiers check to the hospital & had to ask someone what to do with it, no one asked for me it! The care I recvd was great, I was in no pain!
Anyway, I do have issues but I dont think it is anyhting done by Dr Garcia.. I think im in the 1% bracket who is just having issues with eating, drinking.. I have lost 24 lbs, but now seeing a GI doc for heartburn, acid reflux & have an EGD, esoph manometry scheduled for 8/29.

Ok, an update.. Since I was feeling so sick on Thursday, had chills, diarrhea, low grade fever, the GI doc wanted me to do a stool sample again. I was hospitalized in early Aug for C Diff, a bacterial infection. Thy think I got it when I was in Mexico for my surgery.
Wel I got a call on Saturday from the on call gi doc & my C Diff is back.. I'm now on more antibiotics & he said I might have to be seen by an infectious disease doc.
It feels like I have the flu, achy, not hungry, no energy.
maybe when I actually get rid of the infection, I will feel better. I can't believe Im going through this, never thought I would be the one to have issues.

I just had a revision done with Dr Garcia last week. his price was great & he has an excellent & caring bedside manner. Stayed in a hospital for 2 nights & hotel for 3 nights. His nurses were also great. I felt no pain. In my opinion he Is one of the best in Tijiuana.

Rainy Girl, I was going to ask how you were feeling & think I copied your post in error.
I defiantly feel your symptoms cuz I have them too. I still drink out of a 2oz glass& I can barely get Water down. I got out of the hospital today & see a GI specialist next week. Take care!

Hi, Well my deal was to put $ 3500 down & finance in house for 2000.00
I'm a revision so my cost was $5500. I had been saving for a few months & ended up only needing to finance $1000.

I got my hair chopped off today and had my best friend take some new pics of me!! I feel fantastic!!!! Having this surgerywas the absolute BEST decision I have ever made!!! I lost 17 lbs pre-op and 53 lbs since my surgery on April 16th. Who would of thought that 262 would feel and look so good??!! I am only half way to my goal!! WOHOO!!!!     

I'm here in Meixico now, had surgery Mondy, 7/9 with Dr Garcia. My husband was really impressed with the care I recvd. everyday I feel a little better. the broth at the Marriott is good. Nurses at Mi hospital were always there with pain med, cleaning my wounds. It really is a great experience.
I'm still a little tired so sleeping quite bit. no catheter!

I work for large & well known medical facility in AZ. It would be very rare for a Doctor to Email you. You would go though his nurses who would triage the situation & then respond to your question.
I was just released from Dr Garcia yesterday, he tol me to contact Rosie or Melly with any questions.
I was given a list of name & phone numbers when I left the hospital. In fact Rosie clalled me last night & is coming by today to see me.

if I was having symptoms after my surgery, I wouldn't wait 3 days for any doctor to call back. I would go the nearest ER for treatment. Since I'm having my surgery in Mexico. & live in AZ, I'm not sure what ALM could do for me, except to say go the ER.
I am sorry that your friend had issues. Hope she is doing better.

I'm also scheduled with Dr Garcia 7/9. I'm a revision, but lap band already removed. Getting nervous as it gets closer.!

I started looking to book surgery a few weeks ago & Dr Kelly was not listed on "A lighter me" website..
Im going to be using Dr Garcia through them & the price for a revsion was $5500..I have had my band already removed. I have read many excellent comments about Dr Garcia so I am very comfortable with my decision. A Lighter me has been very helpful & answered all of my questions promptly!
