  1. Congrats y'all! It's the start of a new life. I went in so freakishly excited, I don't think I've been more excited about anything than I was that morning. Y'all will do great!
  2. I googled RNY forums, and this one and ThinnerTimes came up, ThinnerTimes wasn't as beneficial to me as this one has been. I like the format of these forums, and the fact that there is an app.
  3. That's pretty typical for around a month out.
  4. Take this pre-surgery time to work out why you eat. Examine what you're feeling when you binge, and that will be an excellent start to this new lifestyle. I would also recommend therapy, Just regular talk therapy, I went through 6 months of therapy pre-op to address my food-related issues, and I think that was probably a blessing in disguise, because I was able to address and re-direct my emotions with food. Sometimes you need a little bit of help figuring yourself out, and It's really comforting to have a non-biased third party to talk to during this adjustment. I still see mine twice a month and I'm 3 months out.
  5. Damn, I honestly think you may have dodged a bullet with the first surgeon. Hopefully this time around will be great! I had my surgery 3 months ago, and it's by far the best decision I had ever made. I've tried for years to lose the weight, I can't remember a time when I wasn't on a 'diet', it's hard to do it on your own, and sometimes we need a tool to help us. This surgery is my savior, definitely a god-send. This is a great community, welcome, there is a lot of information that you can learn here, and a lot of people who will support you, myself included. Any questions feel free to ask. Best of luck.
  6. I'm down, not one, not two, but three sizes! From a 28 to a 22!!! Went shopping today for nsv#2 MY NEW JOB!!!
  7. Abstain from temptation, it will make you stronger!
  8. I can only drink things that are ice cold. I can't do anything hot, or even room temp, it doesn't sit well... Everyone's pouch has it's own temperaments i suppose. haha.
  9. I've been feeling this way too, I'm also right at three months out. I started weighing my food, and being very diligent about measuring and so on. My mom says that I look so serious when I'm cooking now, because before It was one of my favorite things to do, and now I'm bent over a measuring cup and food scale jotting down every detail like I'm a mad scientist.
  10. BM's are crazy things. What you're going through is normal for this surgery, the first couple weeks while on liquids I had nothing but loose sooty looking stool. It went away by the third weekish. I'm going to quote my surgeon,"If you eat solids your stool will be solid, if you eat liquids your stool will be liquid".
  11. Hey, Y'all feel free to add me, I'm in need of more motivation on MFP. Sparklette92 is the name.
  12. I know that I have gotten really sinsitive to smells. A week out of surgery (april 25th) My mom and I went to the store and we walked passed the fish station thingy, and I ran to the nearest trashcan and hurled. It was the worst thing ever, I still can't get too close to the fish area because I will gag. I have issues driving by fast food places with the windows down, the smell gets me.
  13. I get the vanilla and add sugar fr ee coffee flavoring. I love it.
  14. Omg that sounds like the best work out ever. I love swimming and I secretly follow zumba videos in my living room while no one is home.
  15. I drink skim milk and don't have any problems with it. I drink a cup every morning, with my vitamins.
  16. When you need to throw uo try drinking a half cup of milk really quickly. It helps me get things up.
  17. The bubbles can cause your pouch to stretch. I wouldn't risk it.
  18. 95 since surgery 120ish total
  19. Feel free to ask me anything.
  20. I spent a lot of time preparing lol I have been good. Of course there are good daya and bad days and a million uos and downs and changes everywhere.
