  1. I think I felt that feeling at first BUT I also knew that God had opened the door for me to have the surgery. He got me through it and I had such a sense of peace all the way up to and including that day. If He wanted to take your life He would anyway but I believe for you all too that He opened that door to set you up for success so you could fulfill His plan and be yet another testimony! Praying for you!!! Onyx
  2. Yup I sure did! From the day of my first consultation to almost 2 weeks before the liquid diet I was eating at every restaurant possible. But then all of a sudden I felt ashamed and I wanted to do better and I did. I look at the "tornado eating" as traveling. There is no food I haven't tried, nothing I have kept myself from and now I have to start a new journey. My mind still keeps the memory of a bag of Doritos or the taste of a donut but I know indulging leads to failure. Don't be hard on yourself, when you are ready to get in the zone you will! Praying for you! Onyx
  3. I was so excited that I couldn't wait. Everyone asked if I was nervous and I never felt that way. The idea of someday having kids or riding crazy roller coasters or even buying a beautiful gown for my brother's wedding or being able to encourage others for the Lord all outweighed my fears....I am 2 weeks out of surgery and it's an adjustment but praise God it's been great!! Focus on the blessings this will bring to your life and look at the surgery date as your new birthday Onyx
  4. Praying for both of you! I had my surgery 2 weeks ago. The hospital made everything easy and it went great. If you both went through the long process to get to this point then you can do it! I'm here for support too! Onyx
  5. I feel for you on this one! They had me start my liquid diet Easter Sunday!!
  6. Tonight I made Citrus Salmon 1-2 pieces of salmon 1 large orange 1 large lemon 2 tablespoons of minced garlic Rosemary Salt Pepper In a casserole dish place the fish for marinade Salt and pepper both sides of the fish Cut lemon and orange in half and squeeze the juices over the salmon. Rub garlic over top of fish Sprinkle rosemary on the top Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate for 30 min, flip the salmon over, cover and let sit for another 30 min. Dump the marinade into a skillet and heat for 3 minutes then add the salmon. Cook on each side for 5-6 min. It's juicy, tasty and perfect source of protein!
  7. I don't feel it in my throat more like a little lower. Then I get hiccups for a few minutes. In my case I'm thinking I'm not eating slow enough but as this is new for me that takes practice. Glad we are all in it together Onyx
  8. I too have a problem getting in all my liquids. All you can do is sip sip sip all day. But it's tough at times. Don't worry we will get there!
  9. I can't imagine losing any of my brothers sweetie! How terrible that must have been but what a blessing that your daughter looks like him. I'm certain this will be a great honor to her too when she gets older. I am only 2.5 weeks out from having the surgery and I have already seen my life changing in good ways. Whether you decide to have it or not you have us all for support. I had to pray a lot about it and despite many telling me for years that I should, no one could convince me. I really think God opened the door for me because when I decided to do it I ran into it head first without looking back. The best thing you could do is to go to a seminar about it and get your options and questions answered. That started the ball rolling for me! Either way hon I'm glad to meet you! Onyx
  10. I buy the Torani sugar free syrups at World Market or online. There are about 50 flavors and that makes the shakes a lot of fun. I tried buying flavored powders but then it's the same shake all the time. With the syrups (grocery stores carry them too) you can make so make shake combos you never get tired. I have coconut, cinnamon vanilla, peach, pumpkin pie, caramel, and white chocolate so far! So good!!!!
  11. I got the chewables from Bariatric advantage they have like 6 flavors and they are like my candy! I hate anything that is a powdered calcium chewable and I was told that we need the calcium to be citrate so most store bought chewables aren't citrate. But I'm good with these ones because it's like chewing on a caramel
  12. Hahahahaha!!!!!! You totally think like me!!!!! Love it!!
  13. I didn't cheat as far as the liquid diet because I took that as my first big challenge. 2 days before surgery we went to El Paso and I ate a big meal at Famous Dave's BBQ as my last splurge and also as a celebration of not cheating and losing the weight. I can say if you are faithful to your liquid diet you WILL lose the needed weight. Don't let the evil cheater voice get you off course. You got this!
  14. I am kinda in the same boat as you. I had not even a quarter of an egg white omelette yesterday with just cheese and a little bit of ham. I chewed it super well but I got that knot also. I have heard this from others as well and that does get better. As for liquids are you drinking 30 min before or after the food because I was told this causes issues. I think it's just getting to know our new stomachs.
