  1. From Fresno. Ca here- best of luck and welcome
  2. Why is it people who know you have had surgery think that it's totally ok to start their conversations with you or just plain ask how much weight have you lost? I'm much more than my weight loss! Not sure why it bothers me but it does... Only 2 weeks out so not back at work and coworkers etc are texting and asking etc
  3. Need ideas for yummy soft food And soft foods to eat on my two day trip- no soups or stuff like I've been eating!! Please!' lol
  4. Good luck! Hoping for a smooth surgery and swift healing! Be patient with yourself but start walking the day of surgery - it helps
  5. Haha we asked it at the pre op appt- the doctor laughed and basically implied as long as we are not crazy in what we do it was fine as long as I was not in pain!
  6. My husband has taken on the cooking duties for now. I don't eat with them I use that time to go ride my stationary bike inu bedroom. It's working at the moment. Eventually want to be back at the table with my family.
  7. My dr said when it doesn't hurt you feel free. We waited a little over a week. Everything was fine with no issues
  8. I start the soft foods on Thursday- soooo ready already! What foods ideas can you offer? To make it more interesting on Thursday And Friday I'm traveling to San Diego for my daughters wedding- do what soft food travels well?
  9. Highest weight 275 (2010) First surgeon visit 263 Day of surgery 6/7 250 Today 6/15 235.6 Loss since surgery 14.4 pounds Loss since beginning of process 27.4 pounds
  10. Yes walking helped me- I was walking dragging around urine bag and IV within 3-4 hours of surgery- then every few hours.
  11. Good job ray! I started full liquids today so runny cream of wheat for me- yummy
  12. Thanks!!!
  13. I'm also thoroughly sick of this clear liquid diet- but another week of full liquids! I want real food- but at 5 days post-op I've lost 10 pounds- day of surgery (6/7) I was 250 today I weighed 240. That's what is keeping me going other than a commitment to following drs orders and being successful. But I hate this broth stage- thank goodness for popscicles
  14. Ok blame my inability to understand on the brain fog of after surgery- yes that's it! I'll take that excuse!! (how long can I milk that I wonder?)
  15. Gee I would think that would inflate your ego not pop it. Lol
  16. Bernie- I've only met him in person once!! My goal is to improve those numbers and hang out with him and my beautiful sister in law Kelly. But yes so far he has made me laugh and am ready for some fun times!! He is also a very nice guy. I'm lucky that we are going through this together!!
  17. Where do you but the tasteless protein powder to add to soups etc?
  18. I'm still on clear liquids- only 5 days post-op soon I go to full liquids and that is at least one week before I go to puréed foods
  19. I don't know what to tell you but I had a similar situation. My daughter is getting married two weeks post op and I have to travel to San Diego and then the reception- I will be on full liquid diet stage. But more important to get the surgery for me then to eat at the wedding. So even though my surgery date was moved back to cause this dilemma I chose to move forward and realize that this is my life now- but one I chose and will not regret even when everyone is eating around me! At least I hope I don't feel sorry for myself. And one less plate to pay for.
  20. For it and it tastes similar to potatoes according to others who have tried it
  21. Try mashed cauliflower I hear it's awesome and better for you than potatoes! I Have a recipe god it
  22. Ok thanks Nita that's a relief lol
  23. I heard no OJ or any citrus for awhile cause it irritates the pouch - something like that. Which I hope changes after awhile cause I like lemon as a seasoning. Anyone else hear this too?
