  1. A friend that I talked to that had surgery in November said that she had plateued several times and then all of a sudden would lose big amounts. In total she is down 70 lbs since November. Hang in there!

  4. I need to do liquids for a total of three weeks & they just had me start protein shakes a couple of days ago. I feel a bit better adding the protein. Hope I can do two more weeks of liquids!!!

  14. For sure have to try it frozen! I also don't mind yogurt in a smoothie!
  15. OK, I am going on day 5 of liquids of three weeks. So far i have had water, sf jello, diluted juices, and broth. Any other ideas to mix it up that worked for you? I made my family a chicken crock pot meal tonight & I strained some of the drippings & added to my boring chicken broth...yum! I also got some of the onion broth that they serve at our local hibachi/sushi place. Cant find sugar free popsicles here??? Just looking for more ideas. Thanks!
  16. I think we need to do the fat free kinds? Is there anything less than 5g out there? I am not a yogurt fan but the only one i can stomach is the Yoplait Light & then I have to mix in granola so I don't think I'll be doing much yogurt. I do know that the Greek yogurts are the best because they are higher in protein...but yuck!
  17. I know, I did have a few people say they were surprised I was doing it. But morbidly obese is morbidly obese & i have had a lifetime of being overweight. It was time to fix it before it got much worse. You are doing great! I hope I do as good as you!
  18. I really never got the negative feedback, it was more that people were surprised that I qualified for the surgery. I don't know if it is because they are all so used to seeing me this size? But I was told at my surgeons office that I am a "light weight" patient. I look at it as I have been overweight all my life, I am morbidly obese, I am pre diabetic, I have a history of heart disease in my immediate family, and I have other weight related health problems. I am doing something about this before it gets worse. But the most important thing is that it is a personal decision and you can only do this for yourself. You are the one going through it and facing all the challenges. I am only 4 days out and this is really hard & it sucks but in the long run it is going to be awesome & I will be so much healthier!
  19. That is so great! So happy for you!
  20. Hi! How long did it take to get off the pain meds that I was sent home with? I am 4 days out from surgery & feel like I still need them. Is that too long?
