Pain Meds

Hi! How long did it take to get off the pain meds that I was sent home with? I am 4 days out from surgery & feel like I still need them. Is that too long?

I had my surgery on 4/17; so 4 days since my surgery as well. im still taking my pain meds but not as frequently. I'm having pain still when I walk or sit straight up and my surgeon told me to take as needed. I don't think it's a problem that you are still taking them if you are still experiencing pain.

Did you have your surgery laproscopically or was it an open incision? Either way, I would take them if you need them. Everybody is different. My surgery is going to be open, but I have a grand-daughters dance recital 4 days later. Do you think I can do that?

I only needed them for 3 days once I got home. It was mostly to help me sleep since I could not fall asleep on my back and wanted to sleep on my side. I think everyone is different.

I think they would only prescribe you what they think you might need. I'm sure there is no refill. I would take them if I needed them. That's what they are for. Evrybodies tolerance for pain is different. I hope you feel better soon.

I had laproscopic. I had planned on going somewhere today, but just didn't feel up to it yet. You might be able to go, just take it slow. Good luck! :)
