  1. Ensure does make a high protein shake in vanilla and chocolate. 25 grams protein and 5 sugar. Found at Walmart. RD actually recommended since I wasn't getting enough. Very good taste. I don't care much for vanilla but if you add sf caramel or hazelnut syrup makes them better.
  2. Welcome! It's a big step, but we are all here to support you!
  3. I've heard it's from the ketones produced from burning fat!
  4. Last week 206 This week 205 Been a crazy week! I will take it! Looking forward to see everyone's progress. It makes me all warm inside 
  5. A friend just told me the same thing about the left side pains. I am not looking forward to the gas/shoulder pain at all. I have had 2 belly surgeries and despite moving and walking, still had to deal with that. Glad everything is well! Congrats!
  6. Can't wait for my revision! Good luck and here's to a quick recovery!!
  7. Not only will it prevent complications, it will show you are dedicated to the lifestyle changes you will make. Hang in there! You can do it!
  8. Too funny!!! Congrats!
  9. I would say the truth. I had surgery. Their response would be what I would more deflect. Anything that I consider insulting would be said so on the spot. I'm a very open person and you never know when you might be helping someone come to a decision about themselves.
  10. Awesome news! Prayers for continued healing coming your way!
  11. Prayers to both of you. Good luck!
  12. It is what it is. Your true friends will stand by you. Everyone else doesn't matter!
  13. Prayers that everything went well. Keep us posted
  14. So I got to meet my new surgeon yesterday. My employment has a special clause that says "all Bariatric surgeries will be done at..." So even though I was in a WONDERFUL program, if I want to be revised, I must switch. Not very happy about that since the follow up and guidance is really poor with my hospital vs the competitors hospital (btw, they carry the blue center of distinction from bcbs). Anyway, I refuse to stop defeated so forward we go. Plus the best news ever is that after surgery I can return to my program. I'm feeling special!! Fast forward, I met her and she is nice and supportive of my revision. I was worried that she would see my continued weight loss as a cure and the band would not need to be removed despite my severe reflux, slight dilatation, and now slipping (which is what I thought happened but could never prove!) and she doesn't want to wait for surgery. So EGD is scheduled and we meet again may 17th to see what insurance says (which I hope isn't a problem, I have looked at policy and it should go through but never know with them!) Then I get my date! It's been a long road but the light at the end is getting brighter!!! Just wanted to share with my friends here.
  15. That is awesome news! Good luck!
  16. I know alot of people have had success with the band but I am not one of them. Some long term studies now are showing a failure rate as high as 75%. I don't have any thing nice to say about it myself. Initially, I did great but the last almost 2 years now has been a struggle. Lots of reflux and dilatation. Currently awaiting revision to rny which I should have had in the first place. I feel I will have a greater success with this and actually reach goal which I couldn't with the band. I know my surgeon is doing more revisions now and said he prolly won't be doing bands in a few years. My employment is requiring me to switch programs and the new surgeon doesn't even do the band at all. It's a tough decision. Just make sure you are fully informed.
  17. I get bored easily too! Have you looked into the sugar free syrups? There is a huge selection online and a decent supply at Walmart down the coffee isle. I just bought cocconut, peanut. Butter and peach online of course. There are flavors I didn't know existed.
  18. Looking for new additions to my morning smoothie. I have used a scoop of protein, half frozen banana, 1/2 cup skim milk, and 2-4 ounces of frozen fruit. I'm not one for weird combos so if I use strawberry protein, I use strawberries. I have a chocolate truffle protein from nectar that I want to use more of but not sure what fruit would be great and give it an almost ice cream consistency. I don't want to use peanut butter and am looking into pb2. Any thoughts??
  19. Good luck to both on such an important day! Prayers for fast healing
  20. Don't get discouraged! Get out and do more. Nobody has probably even noticed the picc line or bags. Hope things turn around fast!
  21. I am sorry you are feeling this way but understand what you are going through. Keep positive! I have found a lot of support on this site! I am starting over with a new program myself and the words of wisdom here is invaluable!
  22. Good luck Berniec!
