  1. Hey! I'm out here. I just discovered this thread!
  2. I would at least call them and see what you can take.
  3. Any buddies in the Kansas City area?
  4. I was told only with meals and then wait for 39 minutes after a meal.
  5. Hi John. Don't back out because of what others say. That's not a good reason. I have diabetes too. My father died from diabetic complications, I had numerous uncles who had toes, and then their whole leg amputated because of diabetic compliations and it sounds as if you have had a kidney transplant you have a ccomplication too. I had my surgery on May 1. My surgery was a revision from a vertical banded gastroplasty ( stomach stapeling ) some 20 years ago. I had to be opened up and also the old work had to be removed. Come to find out those surgeries back then didn't stay successful with anyone. I had a very hard time finding someone that would even talk to me about it. Onee surgeon said it would take 14 hours to do the surgery, which by the way I had a great surgeon, it took one hour and 30 minutes and I'm doing fine. My diet has advanced and no problems. I have 5 grandchildren, and I want to see my great grandchilden, and play with my grandbabies now. It's a big change, but knowing that it was the right thing to do for me, I did it and I don't regret it for one minute. BTW..my one and only sibling kept telling me not to do it and is now perteerbed that I didn't lsten to her. Oh well, it's not her body. Sorry to be so long. I hope this helps.
  6. I'm sure all doctors are different, however, I was only on clear liquids for two days after my surgery and then I started with the cream soups, etc.. I can tell you 2% milk for me is a no no. Only 1% or skim.
  7. Not too bad. I had to drink a bottle of the Magnesioum Citrate and that was probably the worst part of it. YUCKY
  8. No, I meant double scoops in what? Cereal, cottage cheese, what?
  9. Vamp, you look FABULOUS! Your an inspiration girl!
  10. Panda and Vamp, What are you putting your double scoops in? I'm not much of a cook, but I'll try! I'm concerned about the hair loss too.
  11. I've worn nails for close to 30 years and had my surgery with them on. I also had on hot pink polish on ny toes with rhinestones. It's not a problem.
  12. Also, I forgot to get some info on this. Someone had posted that we weren't supposed to drink 30 minutes before we eat. I knew that were no supposed to during or 30 minutes after, but I hadn't heard the 30 before,...anyone? Anyone know how to make a decent hot chocolate from the protein drinks. Any help is appreciated
  13. I'm having a heck of a time, too. If I can get down a 16 oz bottle of water, half of another one, a s.f. Jello and a popsicle, I've done good. I am having trouble with the shakes. It seems either the shakes or the water. What's more important.
  14. I had to go to the Internet, google it. And that's how I got it. I didn't seem to have an app.
  15. Yes, I did. My phone is the Samsung Epic 4G. Is that what you have?
  16. I hate to use the " E" word..lol , but are you exercising? I have lots of trouble with being motivated to do that parrt of it. Any chance you live in the Kansas City area?
  17. Hi All! Just wanted to see if there is anything special I need to do to get this site on my phone. I'm with Sprint and I have one of their Android phones, but I can't find an app. What am I doing wrong?
  18. Well, I got on the scales today and I am up 2 lbs! What is up with this? I've been steadily losing a lb. a day and now I'm up. Guess I'll have to work a little harder.
  19. Try the Snapple Diet Peach green tea. It is AMAZING!! No sugar, No cal.
  20. I think we all have had those feelings. I have. My surgery was a "re-do" from many many years ago. I'm not young. I think all of the fears and concerns are normal. I know I have to keep telling myself that this is just a tool and to use it wisely. I do the best I can. I don't get everything in everyday like I should,m but I just do the best I can, Just yell if you need something. These are the best group of people, ever!!
  21. yep. Berniece, most of the protein drinks are not fit to drink!
  22. Me either Berniece. Can't seem to get it all in, just doing the best I canl. I wish I had constipation issues. Boy howdy! When I have to go it's right now and get out of the way. Mosdtly water ( not to be indelicate) it makes it a little hard to get things accomplished.
  23. For whatever it's worth, I worked for Kaiser Permanente here in Kansas City for years, until they closed the Kansas City branch.. Your in good hands if your with Kaiser!
  24. This is so Awesome! You all look fabulous! I can't wait till I look that good !
