Scared..but Anxiously Waiting..and Counting The Days!
Barbiedoll, I am so thrilled to hear this! All God asks is to confess our sins and accept and believe in his son, Jesus to save us. The Bible says that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us. Believe honey! All will be fine. I won't be on for a day or two as my surgery is tomorrow. I'll be back on when I can.

Scared..but Anxiously Waiting..and Counting The Days!
Honey, I'm sorry you lost your mom. I lost mine a year and a half ago, but I'm probably a lot older than you. You are not playing God! God gave us free will and a brain to think, and a body we need to care for. We are all sinners and if we are saved and have confessed our sins, we are saved by grace. The same God who saved you, will comfort you, heal you and give you peace. Just ask, the Lord will go with you into that O.R. and his gaurdian angels will surround your bed. Be at peace honey. There will always be people who think they know what is best for us or want to sit in judgement, even though we are told not to judge. Do what is right for you. Trust in the Lord and I'm hear if you need me. ----Kristen

Yes, Really! It's a proven medical fact. The younger you are the faster you will recoop. We're all scared honey, but we have more to fear without this. They'll give you some good drugs to relax you.

Scared..but Anxiously Waiting..and Counting The Days!
Barbiedoll, I will be having my surgery on May 1. Mine is going to be a revision, so I had something similar before. That was 20 some years ago. I had a midline incision then. They don't do that much now, except for me. I'm a re-do. I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but I have had deep vein thrombosis many many times. I had to go in and have a filter put into a vein by my heart to prevent a clot from going anywhere else. I just say all that to say this, With our weight, diabetes, ( yes, I have that too ) and our leg vein issues we really are doing the best for our health. I too am afraid of dying, but i know who holds my future. Pray for peace.

Protien Shakes/drinks
I like the ready to drink shakes. I bought Premier Protein shakes at Costco. It's there brand and someone else on this site recomended them. They have 30 grams of protein per shake and they're not expensive.

Good for you! I think the younger you are, the easier the recovery might be.

Less Than 24 Hours Till Surgery
Good Luck and I'll pray for you. My surgery is May 1st. I'm in the last minute " panic mode" as well. I thought about having just one french fry tonight and then thought, " it's just not worth it" so I sucked down my protein shake and thank God that this is going to work!

Rough Week
I was just floored to say the least when I read your post. I am a Registered Nurse and can not even begin to phathom a hospital like that. I don't know where you live, but you might want to call the State Board of Nursing where you live and file a complaint. You would have been treated better by a Veterinarian!

Learning Way Around In Here...any Place I Can Go Read About It? I Know I Posted 2 Things And I Dont See Them On Here..i Am Frustrated With This Help!
Hi Peg! My experience with this website is that it's not real easy to move around on. I have an Ipad and this site is totally different there than on my lap top. If you figure out an easy way to manuver around, let me know.

A Little Discouraged :(
I'm sorry that happened Jessica. Makes you wish you hadn't told him. I know. That's how I am. I'm having to do this 2 week liquid protein diet and it is (pardon me ) a bitch. I'm taking my family out tonight for dinner at a BBQ place to fulfill a promise to a grandchild. Technically, there is not one thing there that I can have, and I'll try, but if I eat a little lettuce, I'm not telling him.

Feeling Lonely And Discouraged :/
I'm so sorry you're going through this. Being sick and being house bound is enough to make one want to pull their hair out or at least it does for me. Feel free to text me anytime. 816-305-5145. I'll be praying for you.

Hi All 1 Month Out
Maybe it's just taking some time for your body to catch up with your loss. I think you'll do o.k.. you may be losing inches. I'm still on the pre-op liquid protein which sucks by the way, but I have discovered that the scale is not my friend! Stay off the scale for a day or two and check your measurements. Hope that helps.

Protein Drink Ideas?
Thanks Ragdolls! Useful info. After surgery, it may be better, but right now, I'm having to mix powders in water, and it's not too good!

Lost My Insurance, Now I'll Have To Start Over.
I'm so sorry to hear this. I know there are som jobs that offer health insurance from day one. My daughter in laws sister just got a job with benefits from day one. She's working at one of the airport shops here in Kansas City. If you're close to an airport you might check. The other option for you might be Care Credit. They have up to 12 months no interest financing. Good luck honey. I hope this helps.

Hi! I'm Hollie!

Presurgery Bumps In The Road
Hi Jen! I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but there is a company called Care Credit. They are there to help with medical costs by paying the amount you need and they will finance your co-pay interest free for 12 months. You might look them up on the web. They will give you and instant reply. Hope that helps honey.

Protein Drink Ideas?
I'm still on the pre-op diet which is just protein shakes, 64 oz water and Sugar free popsicles, jello and that's about it. I read on the Unjury web site that someone had written to them and said they didn't lose as much weight on their shakes and they thought it was due to where the protein was being made. I tried the unjury shakes and didn't like them. To sweet and too gritty. Can anybody tell me if they use the ready to drink shakes and which ones, and also how much is everyone walking? Thanks all..

Still In Hospital

I have tried the protein powders and they are majorly gritty. I am struggleing getting down all these shakes. Can anyboy PLEASE tell me of any high Protein Shakes that are ready to drink ? Also, I keep hearing about my hair thinning, and it's not thick as it is. Any suggestions on what to take for this??

Trouble With Pre Op Diet
Wow Krista. You have the same mentality that I do. I have been doing the 3 shakes a day and the 64ounces of water and the sugar free Popsicles, sf jello, etc.. Last night I had a major break down and had a grilled chicken breast and some steamed broccoli. I don't believe this hurt me one bit. My surgery is a week from today. I can tell you the desire to eat has to do with the hormone Grellen, which there is a lot less of after the surgery, which is partially why you won't want to eat.
