  1. Which insurance did you have? How's Averbach's team? What are his requirements? I have Kaiser but I chose him as my surgeon at St. Agnes, Kaiser has their own requirements but how long did it take you to meet Averbach's requirements?
  2. Good luck to you!! Looks like Imma need a rant post....I had to do the 6 month program at Kaiser and get down to my 6th and final appointment where we submit my paperwork and to find out...my nut went into labor, with no coverage and I cant go to another surrounding facility because she covers all 3 in my general area...Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Harford County. They told me, we don't know what the plan is now. you may have to wait for us to hire another nut or for her return...why didnt they have back up, she was obviously very pregnant but with this surgery, you will see they dont have the same respect for our plight. My only option is to sit and wait quietly and patiently or go to Capitol Hill, D.C. to another Kaiser facility. Ummmm, do I need to say which I chose???? Hey I never been to D.C. on foot...lmao, I took the day off to make a day of it... #endofrant#
  3. Oh goodness thank you for a glimmer of hope...it all looks so agonizing in the beginning but as long as it passes, Imma be ready to rejoice, soon hopefully!!
  4. Heard it thru the grapevine that you should have met 180 days in the program for approval but at my 6th visit, that only makes 165 days. Another user said that her nut had to use specific wording to try to get her accepted because she also only had around 167 days. Then the nut mentioned that she may be required to come for another visit. Anyone ever heard or dealt with this? Can we possibly be approved anyway??
  5. Lucky duck!! Congrats!!
  6. If they offer me a chance to go anywhere else....I'm going. I will pay a friend to drive if I have to..
  7. I'm trying to call the number you gave me but it was just a machine. I'm goin insane over here...this is sooo unfair. I will definitely be looking for the patient advocate. I need answers now, I have scheduled days off and everything for my appointment. When are they gonna call with other options, they get one more day before I begin to blow their phones up every hour on the hour..lol.
  8. How can we complete this extensive 6 month program, 7 for me due to a mistake on their part when scheduling but then when I have my 6th and final appointment and prepared to submit my paperwork, they say oh your nutritionist went into labor, we don't know when she'll be back, we don't have anyone to cover for her because she runs all 3 locations in Baltimore, also we have no further information, this will be a waiting game....WTF?!?!?! I have my preparations made, my job is ready, my coverage is ready, my support system is ready, all my supplies and supplements purchased and I should have gotten a date for mid Feb. but now...will i have to just sit n wait quietly for another 6-8 weeks?? How is this fair practice? Right now, they're sure not meeting my requirements...wish I could punish them for an extra month!! GRRRRRRRRRR
  9. This is so unfair...I wanted to get my date before officially posting here but now IDK when I'm going to get sleeved. I have Kaiser and after this 6 month process, which has now been 7 months due to scheduling issues, I get down to my last visit where I am to submit my paperwork to the panel and my nut goes into labor....fine with me but to say, we have no back up and she's the only nut in all 3 locations in Baltimore and we dont know when she will be back for sure and no there's no one else you can see and no we have no further information is some bull sh** forreal!!! I cant even breathe, I feel like I cant even focus at work...WTH?!?!?!?!? I need another option, I purchased everything, my job is prepared, my support system is prepared, i was suppose to get in before March...OMG, I'm losing it...smh.
  10. Omgness, I'm following this thread hoping to see Shay get the call that changes her life and I'm waiting patiently for your update lady...fingers crossed for u!!!
  11. When u go to your profile, top right is a tab to edit profile, then use the tabs on the left to choose what part of your profile you want to update, I believe as long as you update your surgery information with your current weight, your ticker changes automatically.
  12. Wow, I knew other people had it happen before but I finally don't feel embarrassed saying I too was put off my first ride ever after purchasing my first season pass with all intentions to spend every weekend at six flags....$80 bucks for embarrassment with my closest friends and daughter watching...smh. After my surgery I will be back in full force and even be able to meet weight requirements for zip lining also!!!
  13. Omg!!!! Congrats you lucky dog!!! Keep us updated the time's gonna fly by...
  14. I've heard that difficult breathing can be caused by possible air left in the cavity from when the surgeon checks for leaks. I've heard it can get really bad. Be sure to tell ur surgeon and Dr. what you're experiencing.
  15. Yeah this does seem strange. You should be able to know how long u should be waiting for a response. I have Kaiser mid Atlantic and we have to complete the 6month process also and we submit at my next and last visit and was told that the board meets every 2 weeks.Good luck, maybe no answer is better then the wrong answer!! Be calm but start calling!!!
  16. It's under the "general gastric sleeve surgery forums"
  17. Your feelings are always valid. Even if no one else values them or doesn't understand or can't relate. I do notice an abundance of positivity and happiness by most users here but that's only because most come to get support, encouragement and positivity away from the possible negative environment and people who disapprove, we try to be that place... You're extremely valid in your thoughts because I would feel the same way if that was my results after all the build up to lose so much. U had expectations that were not met so disappointment is a valid response. I still want to only encourage you to not be defeated, get your workouts in, adjust your diet accordingly, continue to track your eating habits and have your nutritionist discuss other options. We are here to help u thru this...some people hit stalls and feel the same and need a little encouragement when they feel sown about it. I can't wait to see ur update...when u least expect it..the loss will probably creep up on you!! Good luck..
  18. This is the perfect place for anyone who plans to support your journey or has questions, doubts or concerns. Some may even just need someone who can relate. Please have your supporters finally enter our world and get the support and resources they need to support you better!! This excites me since its hard to answer all the questions and concerns myself, now they can just hop on in!! I've planned a lunch today for my husband, mom and daughter and we are gonna make them a family page and explore the site together!! Hope to see u there!!
  19. Good morning!!! Great minds think alike but I guess yours works faster!!! This morning my husband and I began to discuss an episode of Dr. Phil that he watched because the topic was She had weight loss surgery, now I want a divorce...he began to question and look for reassurances this morning so adamantly. I told him that he should make a page and explore the site. His suggestion was, there should be a space for spouses to exchange with other spouses about their experiences. I said, Alex has thought of everything, let me go and message him and see if he can work that out...but when I picked up my phone, hit the app and scrolled down....there was this!!!!! Absolutely perfect. My mom, my daughter and my husband are getting together this afternoon and we will make them a family page for all their questions and concerns. Reading the forums will be exactly what they need to calm their nerves since it worked for me!! Thanks for everything you do. This site is amazing and when I tell people about it, I also tell them how attentive you are to the community. You are appreciated!!
  20. Does it feel as good as it looks??
  21. Don't you feel powerful?!?!? I love it...great job!! I wouldn't say I feel powerful..I guess I feel that despite everything, what I wanted to happen in the end is happening Then there's your power!!! Power over your life to make the things happen that you want to see happen. Keep that control...now you WIN and not the obesity!!
  22. Wow, there you go lady!! Some times the loss can change our faces but you have fortunately kept your looks. Your very pretty and look great in that dress...work it!!
  23. wow, u look great!! very handsome too..
  24. Looking good there!! I'm loving that jacket...you won't fit it soon, maybe u won't miss it...hint hint...lol!!
