  1. I totally agree - one of the reasons I started following Bariatric Pal was the lively vets conversations. I am 5 weeks out and rely on my surgeon and nutritionist but come here for support and how Roos. Everyone has such fantastic ideas and the support is tremendous!
  2. I am ranging from 60-70 gms on average.
  3. So cute. Cats always seem to know when something new has ventured into their home and they feel compelled to sit/sleep on them. I can't bring in a new article of clothing without it first being inspected by our kitty
  4. I could not handle any of the chewables. They were all too sweet for me. My nutritionist suggested I take Materna vitamins. Yup the ones for when you are pregnant! They are not too large and go down easily. Much, much better.
  5. Glad to hear that you are doing better!
  6. Now that I am back to work and it is so busy some days I am finding that I don't get my water in until I am home from work. Although I do get about 16oz in at work. However, lately I have been getting quite nauseous and dizzy/headachy by mid day. Could this be because I am not fully hydrated during the day? I know I need to figure out a way to make sure I drink all day long but it keeps slipping my mind.
  7. I am six weeks out. Started with a BMI of 40 and have lost 21 lbs. it's slow and in my second stall BUT my measurements are dropping drastically already. People at work are already commenting about me shrinking!
  8. Try to keep a pillow close by too - I always felt more secure with one if I coughed or sneezed in my first couple of weeks.
  9. Hrhlaurie, too funny about your dog. Mine immediately sits beside me at dinner (or any meal for that matter) knowing that she will get some of the left overs the cat expects a bite too. As soon as I start cutting the left overs smaller she starts in. Hopefully she doesn't gain weight...so I get my exercise walking her more now too!
  10. Sleeve Nicks, I live in Canada bit if I ever get to Boston (pn my bucket list) I would love to meet up with you!
  11. Hey Happygomom, yes it's so noticeable now that I too used food and coffee to get me through the days pre op. Here's to the better days! Today, was a great work and food day. I can see this totally working now!
  12. It's a new day Sleeved215. I know you've got this. Yesterday was a small blip in your journey. Please remind me of this when I post this same thing some where down the road. We all slip and have slipped in the past and probably down the road. Try not to let one day ruin your plans xoxo
  13. I was just talking to my husband about this as well. Our grocery bill will be drastically reduced now and as the pater stated we can now buy better quality ingredients and still spend less per month!
  14. That's more than 20 lbs a month. As my nutritionist said to me when I brought up the same concern....when was the last time you were able to lose X lbs in a month. Yup...my response was never. Put it all in perspective for me. You are doing fabulous - I hope I can do as well as you at the two month mark
  15. Same here burping for me only started the last few days when I drink water too. I will be five weeks out on Wed.
  16. Okay was my first day back to work today. Although I was off work for 4.5 weeks and thought I had it all worked out. My plans crumbled today. I packed my lunch and Snacks, got to work to find out I was scheduled for a day of meetings and a working lunch meeting. Headed off to the meetings and promptly left my prepared food in the office fridge. At least I remembered to bring my Water bottle. During the lunch meeting I totally put aside the small bites, mindful eating, chew chew chew and chew some more for the take a bite of dry chicken barely chew and swallow....yikes I paid for that bite for the next two hours. The pain in my chest was horrible, eyes watering, foamies etc..thank god I didn't throw up though Note to self ..... Follow the plan and pay attention to what and how you eat. Plus remember nothing is worth dry chicken!
  17. About 22yrs ago when I was only 160lbs I had a GP tell me to stop riding my bike and swimming because that would help me loose weight. I needed to do weight bearing exercises to have any real affected change on my body. He told me to begin running, which I did and promptly hurt my self stopped exercising entirely and proceeded to gain 90 lbs and by yoyo dieting over the next 20 yrs. Now I'm never listening to a dr that has such asinine ideas again! Thank god for my sleeve!
  18. Proud Grammy - you are awesome! Exactly what I would do
  19. Hahaha, my sleeve talks to me and everyone around the dinner table!
  20. Wow, your story is inspiring! I am only 4 weeks out right now and hope to achieve your results as well!
  21. I was sleeved on May 14th. Lost 16 lbs in the first two weeks and then nothing...nada for 13 days. Yesterday 2.8 lbs disappeared! I spoke to my nutritionist yesterday about my stall and had her look over my fitness pal food diary and I am following things to a T. She is happy with my progress and put it all in perspective for me. Since surgery I am averaging 4.5 lbs a week...when was the last time I averaged that kind of weight loss......my memory fails me on this one. So although I had a two week stall I am now pleasantly surprised and content. I have increased my protein this past week from 60gms to 70 germs...maybe that has helped too!
  22. I too am in the same boat. Sleeved on May 14th lost 16 ills in the first 13 days.....then ..... Nothing , nada, zelch. I know it's common to be in this stall and that it will start to come off again, but I can't stop my mind from thinking I wil be the one that this fails on. Like everyone else. I am averaging -600-700 calls a day, 60-65 gms of Protein and 8 glasses of Water a day. I have been having avocado as well, and will eliminate this as another posted suggested for now. I just hope and pray that my weight loss kicks in again. Sad in Canada.
  23. 2muchfun Thank you for posting that link. It was really informative and has made me feel a lot better about my stall (I am 3 weeks out today and have stalled since day 13). Everyone's confirmation that this is normal and can be expected is truly helpful too!
  24. Wow, one year looks good on you!
