First day back to work after surgery

Okay was my first day back to work today. Although I was off work for 4.5 weeks and thought I had it all worked out. My plans crumbled today. I packed my lunch and Snacks, got to work to find out I was scheduled for a day of meetings and a working lunch meeting. Headed off to the meetings and promptly left my prepared food in the office fridge. At least I remembered to bring my Water bottle. During the lunch meeting I totally put aside the small bites, mindful eating, chew chew chew and chew some more for the take a bite of dry chicken barely chew and swallow....yikes I paid for that bite for the next two hours. The pain in my chest was horrible, eyes watering, foamies etc..thank god I didn't throw up though

Note to self ..... Follow the plan and pay attention to what and how you eat. Plus remember nothing is worth dry chicken!

Hey, fellow Albertan. Today was my first crazy day at work too. My surgery was 4 weeks ago. I went back part time after 2 weeks, mostly because I was bored. My downfall was coffee. It was decaf but I paid for it. Tonight, I'm exhausted. I'm realizing how much I used calories to fuel my very busy life. Tomorrow is another day, live and learn. Skip the coffee and remember to bring some herbal tea.

Hey Happygomom, yes it's so noticeable now that I too used food and coffee to get me through the days pre op. Here's to the better days! Today, was a great work and food day. I can see this totally working now!
