Savannah...my heart broke when I read your doctor said it was unethical to put you on fertility meds!! I would find a new dr. Do not let him stop you from wanting a child. I'm in the same boat as you are. I've had four spine operations that made me overweight. It's hard to have a baby because of it. I've tried clinic and no success. I'm healthy minus the weight. My doctors are all for the sleeve and are very optimistic about pregnancy after the sleeve.
Don't give up on your dreams sweetie...get a new dr !

Drs can be real jerks sometimes...get a second opinion...it's a natural right to have/want children!
Get what you want/desire in your life! Screw the naysayers!! Fight onward!

This is the exact same reason I am wanting the surgery as well. It is always so depressing watching friends and family go on popping out babies like hotcakes and then complaining about the kids when there you are wishing you had a kid to complain about. (Personal experience with a friend)
If anything know that you are not alone in your endeavor. Best wishes and good luck!

savannah31548 got a reaction from Kimmy1813 in So.. Does your husband like you now that you're skinny?
    Pre-surgery comments are as follows:
    1. "You're going to look so pretty after you lose that weight."

(Apparently I'm not pretty since I'm fat.) 2. "Aren't you upset you won't be able to continue eating out all the time like you do now?"

(Yes, I'm overweight because I have the pizza guy on speed-dial... ) 3. "Wow! You'll be able to be more active and do more at your job."

(Obviously, since I'm a large woman, I must be lazy and not function on the same level as the skinny ladies at my job....) People don't think before they speak... Word vomit.

I tried doing it on my own and I counted the calories, exercised till I was too tired to move and still only managed to lose 20 lbs. only to gain it back as soon as I took a break from exercising for an injury. My primary care doctor said this to me. That he wouldn't approve me for vsg because I should be able to lose 100 lbs. on my own without any assistance. All I should have to do is follow the food pyramid and be active for 45 minutes a day. So I went over his head and contacted the mayo Clinic.

My husband didn't like me before and he doesn't like me now. He does like eating my leftovers. Hopefully, when I reach goal, I will find someone who does like me. I deserve to be loved, no matter what size I am.

BaHaHaHa True true!! I find myself doing just that every time I have a question pop into my head. I think that my way of trying to do this right! I want to do it right! I read in a book a women's response to someone sayn it way the easy way out. She responded with.. Do you own a wash machine?? Do you use said washer? You do...Well then why don't you take your clothes down to the river and scrub them out on a rock. A wash machine is the easy way out. I thought that was very clever lol

Oh the dreaded "can't you do it by yourself?" Or "it's the easy way out."
Yes, try obsessing over anything you put in your mouth, count/measure/weigh every bite of food. Count calories, carbs, Protein, Water intake. Exercise 2 hours a day. Research everything you do like a mad scientist .. And then tell me if this is easy. Lol.

Mines was realizing that I was not providing a fulfilling life for my 11 year old son. He has so many curiosities such as traveling and other adventurous things, my weight has certainly kept me from fulfilling a lot of his desires as a child. One evening it just became crystal clear that in a sense I was failing my son as well as myself by not taking the appropriate steps to change my life. So I went ahead and made that call now I'm on my way to becoming the mother that my son deserves.

savannah31548 reacted to RJ'S/beginning in Life after a leak...
I was 5 months in the hospital due to complications with sleeve surgery. I had a leak as well...But I went septic....after they did surgery to clean up the infection they put me in an induced coma.because the pain was out of this world...i was supposed to be in it for a few days but ended up 19 days..When I woke up all my muscle mass was gone and I had a Trachea....I went on to have 11 surgeries with 2 of them being stents put in to try to save my sleeve...then they decided to try clamps..that did not work....So at the end I have a combination by pass and sleeve...I had not eaten for 5 and a half months...had to learn to walk again, talk again and even eat again..I lost all my hair and ended up with a category 5 bed sore on my butt...!0 months later I have finally been released from medical care for the bed sore....I was in bed forever, it was the loneliest time in my life....
I would do it all again in a second...10 months and 160 lbs off...I am a new woman and a very active one...Life was not worth living anymore before my sleeve as I was just existing.....chin up girl...at least it isn't 5 months yet...Hope you get better soon and can finally be on your way to a successful new you......

Depending on the area in which you live, you may be able to buy work clothes, suits and shoes at Goodwill. There are also consignment shops, but that may be more expensive. Also, if you'll look for sales on your city's FB page, you may also be able to find really good deals. My mother in law had a lot of Ann Taylor, Donna Karen, etc. suits she put on the city FB page - she was practically giving them away, just to clean out her closet.

I am super excited at the prospect of being able to shop for common sizes in any store. Of course I realize things may still fit funny even after weight loss because of my body shape, I'm still excited. The link posted above about using a few pieces to create multiple outfits is great. Good luck to everyone before and after!
