I won't even get any meat or veggies, just liquid for two whole weeks! Don't you wish you could just not eat any liver and that would be your liver reduction plan?

Okay slightly off topic (and knowing me, I'll be breaking a million rules by posting), but this will be coca-cola's dirty, not so 'little' secret if they go ahead with it. If any of you feel so inclined please have a look at the following, sign and promulgate.
For those that are against, indifferent to this cause; no need to comment or kick up a fuss. Please just walk on by.
    Many thanks

Maybe try your instant breakfast with double milk...milk and instant milk powder. That would add some Protein. Make a can of chicken noodle Soup and strain out the noodles.

Day 5 tonight and no throwing up, gagging or anything. Only time I had it was the night after surgery. Had dry heaves once and that was before I could start on liquids. Drinking that upper GI Syrup crap almost made me puke but I was able to control it. Water has been tasting like metal lately. Tried Poweraide zero today and is not to bad. Also tried chicken noodle Soup (just the broth) and that was a great treat! Keeping up on my walking each day seems to be helping cause I can walk longer distances each day. Stopped taking the pain medicine (perkaset) yesterday at 9am. More of just a soreness at the two larger incision area but is getting better each day. Have no problem keeping things down. Sticking with the Jello Soups Poweraide zero water. Apple juice seems a little strong right now. Maybe if I do half and half. So far so good.

Went to the recycling centre today. They have huge metal bins for you to put clothes in for recycling. There's a chute door high up and you reach up and pull down. It's pretty stiff and you need to really pull down on the handle with two hands to get it open and stuff the clothes in.
I have done this on many occasions in the past. As a short person, I jump up to catch the handle, then use my weight to bring it down. Not done it for a couple of months though. Today, l jumped, grabbed the handle and pulled, And pulled. But i just ended up hanging there. Eventually, i jumped, grabbed and it came down. Then went straight back up at speed with me hanging on for grim death...
It actually went beyond where it usually sits, so I was literally left swinging in the wind. The man who came to help me down could barely keep a straight face. He then opened the chute and I threw my stuff in. His suggestion as he walked away? "You need to put on a bit of weight before a wee thing like you tries that again..." I could have kissed him :-)))) It's the things you could never have dreamed of happening that make being sleeved a joy every day.

magtart reacted to Cindy Martin in I finally get it; I have to live without carbs.
I love my sleeve, (Peanut). He treats me awesome. A great helper is he. Carbs on the other hand, are my worst enemy, at least anything except green veggie carbs. I love the fact I have lost 95#s. I'm ecstatic my health has improved to the point I feel 10 years younger, and I'm not exaggerating. I started incorporating carbs back into my life about 2 months ago, as recommended by my physician. Healthy carbs of course, but still carbs. I have struggled ever since. I don't know why my body reacts to carbohydrates the way they do, but the impact is horrific. I am definitely not one of those lucky people who can eat what they want and walk away. I won't bore you with all the details of the last 2 months, but I will tell you I have had to come to grips with the fact I need to say goodbye forever, to carbs. I will continue to eat strawberries, no more than 3 at a time. All the green veggies I want, and that's it. I know this will put my weight loss back on track, just really sad it has to be this way in my life. I honestly felt once my diabetes went into remission my body would not crave them as much. WRONG!!!
I would love to hear how carbs effect others on here. Please chime in. I want to start a group called "Living without carbs, Whaahahah!" lol Think anyone would join me?

So Monday will be 9 months since my surgery (Surgery date was Jan 21st.). I started at 360lbs with a 54bmi. Was in 4XL shirts and size 44-46 pants/shorts. After 9 months I have lost 140lbs now weighing 220lbs and my bmi is right around 30ish. I am now in a XL shirts and in a size 32 pants/shorts.
I workout almost everyday of the week from running, the gym, and Jiu-Jitsu.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask. I am very open and love to help.

magtart reacted to vegasneon in Someone made my day!
I don't really usually like attention from people but I have felt kind of sad about nobody commenting on my weightloss. Tonight a lady I don't see often said to me "you've lost weight" and I said "a little" and she looked me up and down and said "no, not just a little, you look great". Boy did it make my day! I was in the early part of my last breaktime walk and I added 4 or 5 flights of stairs, up & down, in the middle. Plus I was wearing a clingy sweater that I thought made me look fat AND a coat!
My husband and my best friend tell me all the time but no one else ever mentions it, until tonight. I've lost 2 sizes and over 50 lbs so it should be at least a little noticeable.

I once posted a joke about "skinny b*****s" on FB. I was stopped by an older coworker in the hall who told me she has anorexia and has developed osteoporosis because of it. She said, "It's not always easy to be a skinny b***h." Because we are human, we often judge ourselves based on others. I am constantly trying everyday to remember that I haven't walked in others' shoes, and I don't know their struggles. Trying to stop feeling sorry for myself!

Almost 50 lbs down and I'm still struggling to Celebrate as I'm still wearing the same clothes and comments about my losses are rare. But I noticed something this morning, something I can do now that I could not before, and now I'm feeling upbeat again. After I started thinking about it, SEVERAL things came to mind.
    1. I can trim my toenails easily!
    2. I can put my blue jeans on while standing up, and without leaning against anything!
    3. I can reach, and dry, EVERY BODY PART after showering!
    4. I can lace up my shoes now (as opposed to leaving them loosely laced up and slipping them on and off)!
Woo Hoo! Here's hoping you'll share what you can do now as well!

Don't feel bad about what you are experiencing. From my experience, and from what I have read here, what you are going through is quite normal. I would estimate almost everybody has at least one day where they say to themselves, "OMG, WTF did I do to myself!?"
But, just to let you know, 20 pounds in less than a month is freaking awesome. When have you ever been able to do that and know that it is going to stay off? Obviously your expectations for initial weight loss were not realistic, but your reality is still VERY good. As far as talking to your psy, there is an old saying:
We are only as sick as our secrets
To not share something you know you need to would be worse than not sharing at all, in the long run. Tell me, what would be the worst thing that could happen if you do talk to them? What could be the best? I have found that, "Patient, HEAL THYSELF!" seldom works. It is my belief that pretty much every person getting WLS has issues with their relationship with food, though only a small percentage will admit to it and an even smaller percentage will seek help to deal with it. Each of us must find our own way and asking for help does not mean we are weak. Quite the opposite, actually.
