BCBS TEXAS - Check on Approval Status
I went to bcbstx.com, created an account, and found out that way. I was anxious and checked every day!

Short hair for me. never before
I have had short hair since I was 19, but I recently let it grow just because I was too lazy to go get it cut. Then my hair started falling out. I have gray/white hair and decided to get it cut like Dame Judi Dench and I love it. So easy to care for.

What the heck does this mean?!
By pain pump I mean the kind that hooks up to your IV and you can press a button to self administer a dose. That is what I had.

What the heck does this mean?!
Oh, yeah. You can get pain meds through your IV or a shot in your hip. It should have nothing to do with going ahead with the surgery.

What the heck does this mean?!
From googling it looks like a pain pump.

Having a period right before surgery?
Don't worry about it. The nurses and the doc have seen everything and they will take care of your needs.

First Post! Kinda hesitant...
There are plenty of youngsters around. I think there is a section for 20 somethings. Welcome!

I'm anxious to hear how the appointment went!

I will admit
I was on Lexapro for years and had no side effects that I was aware of. My doc switched me to Cymbalta for anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. I haven't experienced any side effects with this either.

Roasted Vegetables
I had roasted asparagus with my steak last night. I added a tiny bit of freshly grated parmesan. My favorites are brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, and onions.

Catching a cold?
Crackers and ginger ale sounds more like morning sickness relief to me. I lean toward some hot Soup for a cold.

Talk time Side Sleepers
I think the 2nd or 3rd night I just arranged a pillow to prop myself up on my side. It worked out okay.

Assimilate gastric sleeve without having surgery?
My stats are not impressive. I spent at least 8 months battling a cross addiction with alcohol. I'm better now and back on the proper path.

Cleared for regular food
I hesitate to bring this up, but the owner of Jimmy John's is a notorious big game trophy hunter. I can't bring myself to buy food from him.

Cleared for regular food
Egg drop soup is good. Maybe something with shrimp.

Has anyone ever got approved within 2-3 months?
Mine was quick. All I had to complete was one NUT visit and the psych eval. I had already had an EKG and EGD earlier in the year for other reasons. I guess it was around 6 weeks.

Pre-surgery Jitters
Calming breaths...this, too, shall pass.

Assimilate gastric sleeve without having surgery?
I was also born in Hollywood. :) I will be two years out next month and still don't really get hungry. If I feel hungry I eat, but if I'm out running around or something it quickly passes and I just forget that I was hungry. I think my surgeon removed part of my attention span along with my stomach.

Acid battle.. Advice?
Omeprazole works for me. If I have breakthrough issues a few tums does the trick.
