HHHappy got a reaction from mi75 in Need help finding protein shakes/powder! Recommendations?
Ditto on Premier Protein ready to drink. Post op I wasn't that keen on them. I prefer Syntrax Nectars like Fuzzy navel, Lemon Tea, Cappachino, Roadside Lemonade

I would binge on sweets before surgery. I realize I'm only 3 months out, but I have no desire for sugar at this point.

HHHappy got a reaction from Aquafinaflo in 3 MONTHS POST OP. NOT LOSING WEIGHT
Feb 10 to today isn't 3 months and 1 week. I think you accidentally miscalculated. (I was sleeved on the 6th is why I caught that so quickly!)
I've lost 30 pounds since surgery so I don't think you should be disappointed with your loss. Getting really upset just fires off cortisol and slows down losses. Concentrate on each and every positive thing you are doing.

    Tell your friend to "F-off"
If you think about it, it really doesn't make any sense to compare. What are you really comparing? There is no way two people came to the starting line with the same backgrounds. Let's think about the differences:
    - Age
    - Gender
    - Weight loss experience
    - Percentage of body fat (not BMI, that is almost worthless)
    - Amount of musculature
    - BMR
    - Pre-op weight loss (a person who lost 10# pre-op will appear to be a slower loser than the person who did not have a pre-op diet, which can throw your mind off)
    - Fitness level (I can be fat, yet still fit and when doing an exercise class with someone who is not, my body will get to an aerobic zone sooner)
The list goes on and on. The only reason to compare yourself to another is to either make them or yourself feel bad. At least, that is what the end result always seems to be. It just does no good and there really is no basis for whatever results you discover from your comparison. What does it mean, anyway? They are more/less compliant than you? They have more/less willpower than you? You are more/less of a person than they are?
Just stay focused on your program and stay as compliant to the guidelines as you can, and in 12 months you will see how little was gained and how much was lost by comparing.

As long as you are following the guidelines as closely as possible, then you will lose at the rate your body and composition is supposed to. Try not to compare yourself to others as no two people are alike. Only disappointment results from comparisons as there is no way to satisfy your expectations.
Just keep doing the next right thing and you will lose weight.

HHHappy got a reaction from kmo235 in Do you eat regular or non/lo fat versions of food?
I don't do "fat free" but I do my best to stay away from sugar. I use Hellman's Light mayo most of the time. I use full fat cheese most of the time as well. Sargento has an ultra thin slice that is perfect.

You'll be surprised at how differently you look at food post surgery. I can look at a cake and not have the slightest urge to eat it.

I also take Lexapro. My Vitamins do not contain it. I checked powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Proteins and no tryptophan there. Syntrax Nectars have it listed but I drink it daily and no problems at all.

The first few days will be the hardest as you detox off of carbs and old habits of eating all the time. The closer I got to surgery, the easier it became for me. I ate LOTS of popsicles, too. It's kinda funny because since surgery, I've not had one popsicle. I just don't want any!
Good luck! Hang in there and keep your eye on the prize.

What's on your surgeon's approved list for your stage? I was allowed refried Beans fairly early. We eat out Mexican every week and I order a side of Beans and cheese. Yummy!!
