  1. sugar free hot chocolate that is..........
  2. Hot chocolate with a dab of sugar free cool whip. Love it. The hot drink really makes you satisfied and full.
  3. Congrates! So happy for you! Don't ya love your sleeve!!
  4. I was sleeved on July 11 2013. I think that I have always been worried that down the road I would be able to eat more I just measure to make sure I don't eat more. I stay away from slider food and stick to the Protein and veggies. I also drink hot liquid like sugar free hot cocoa or sugar free apple cider to keep the full feeling between meals. I guess I am in such fear of down the road and 3 years out that I believe that I just have to always measure and will continue. I made a promise to myself that if I did this surgery I would always measure and always work out for life.
  5. I am so happy for you. I hope to be in your situation soon. Your words are so true. I actually cried a tear but it was a good tear. I love readying your posts and the positive feelings. I remember your post about almost falling into the garbage thing and someone making a comment on how you might fall in that you were so tiny. Made me laugh. Congratulations on your success and looking forward to the healthy 2014 myself.
  6. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope there is no leak and wish you the best.
  7. I asked my insurance company upfront if I could make payments for what was left over. It was 80/20. They said yes. I would think they should be abler to tell you. I paid 1,400 at time of surgery for the deductable Then I owed 3,800. I made a payment plan with them for 150.00 a month. I could pay more if I have it but for now 150.00. The insurance company pays the doctor and then you owe your portion to the insurance company. Now this is just my insurance company. I know a lot of people have different options and different insurance companies. I am in Houston TX and my surgery was 18,000 with hospital stay etc. I have seen cheaper but seems to be about 9,000-18,000 depending on doctor and hospital. I picked a doctor that had been doing them for a long time. I have blue cross blue shield here in Texas.
  8. I have long hair. I have lost a lot of hair. Jan 11th I will be at 6 months. It is starting to slow down. At 4 months it was a lot more. One thing I did was I bought a old fashioned hair brush. One that has soft bristles. All I can explain is it looks like the old ones that used to sit on vanity tables of women years ago. Like 1900's. I found one in CVS pharmacy. I swear right away I was not pulling my hair out every time I brushed my hair. My issue is my hair gets tangled and then when I used my regular old brush clumps would come out but with the new brush it barely happens anymore.
  9. My family loves sushi. I went for sushi with them but just had the fish (no roll or rice) rice is carbs so I just did the fish. I was 2.5 months out. Filled up on the edamames and miso Soup. I felt I did not miss the rice at all. I am now almost 6 months out and went to sushi 2 days ago. I still stay away from the rice.
  10. I was sleeved on July 11 2013. I posted my before and after pictures at 5 months and was a little shy to do so. So many of you commented on how I looked younger and how I looked like my daughter from the before pictures of me. One person said congratulations on finding the fountain of youth! I loved that and laughed hard. Best complement ever! There was only one person that is an old dear friend of mine. He lost 100 pounds on his own and has diabetes. When I told him I was having surgery he said he would not recommend it because the majority of the patients put the weight back on. It made me feel sad that he was not on board with me. He still does not have anything positive to say now that I have lost 90 pounds.
  11. Congratulations! You must feel great! What a great Christmas gift for you!
  12. I had this very bad in the beginning too. Someone here said it was Kotisis or how ever you spell it. It does get better. I did use sugar free mints and that helped. I am 5.5 months out and it is not the norm now but in the beginning for me it was.
  13. Wow that is fantastic. I am so happy for you. I can't believe you don't have any pain. I had such pain after surgery. It was so hard to walk around. You are super lucky.
  14. Yep me too. My doctor knew I had one. The did the camera down my stomach prior to the surgery. It was large and they repaired during surgery. I was fine recovering also.
  15. How exciting. I wish you a speedy recovery! What a great Christmas Gift!
  16. I too slept on a reclining chair in the living room for about 3.5 weeks. I was so soar and in a lot of pain. I too can usually handle pain and was amazed how bad it was for me. It seems like everyone is different. I had to be on pain meds for at least 2 weeks. Then I moved on to just Tylenol. Drinking Water not as bad for me as you are going through. I know getting dehydrated is a big problem so keep sipping. Call your doc and nut but if you read on this website this is so common with a lot of people just sleeved. You are swollen and it takes time to heal but water is so important. The gas will subside it just takes time. Keep walking as much as you can. It really does help with the Gas. Hope you are feeling better soon. Once you are further out you will look back at this time like it was nothing because your clothes will be falling off.
  17. Wow you look great. It is amazing isn't it. How our lives change. You just look so happy! Congrates!!
  18. Hmm I have never been told to eliminate my Protein shakes. I assume I will continue them for life. I am curious what others say from their nut. I still use muscle milk 100 calorie pre made. I do at least 1 a day along with my other protein meals.
  19. You know I just came down with a bug or cold. I have been laying in bed for 2 days. I have not wanted to eat at all. I was worried about it so I made my self eat some cottage cheese and soft chicken. I could only get a few bites. I think this is just typical when your feeling under the weather. At least for me. I am 5.5 months out also.
  20. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Don't forget chapstick!
  21. When I started thinking about wls I started wanting the lap band. I visited with 2 doctors and with the amount of weight I needed to loose they both said they would not do the lap band for me. I then started researching about the sleeve and thought my doctor knew what was best for me. I have to say there was a lot of issues with the lap band that I was starting to hear about. slippage and erosion. That kind of turned me off because I had heard a lot of people getting a revision years after lap band. So I went ahead with my surgeons direction and I could not be happier.
  22. Congratulation's and welcome. This is a wonderful website. I wish you the best in Jan!
  23. I was sleeved on July 11 2013. I am a little over 5 months and I feel great. I thought it was time to post some photos. I know it helped me when I was thinking of getting sleeved. So hope it can help others too. I now have no sleep apnea and my blood pressure is normal. No more aching feet is a plus too.
  24. Wow great job! You look great.
