Thanks Janet; I know you are a sucker for animals too, but it seems quieter around here already. You know it was OCT last year when we had to put Woody down.... FLICK I hate the fall. oH Karla , don`t cry , my eyes are stinging so bad...YUP he did have a fabulous life, we`ve been sitting here reminising about all the antics (trouble) he used to get into. THAT BOY HAD STORIES TO TELL!!! From his constant run ins with BEEs in the backyard (nope he never learned that they stung! dah) & sKUNKS, to racing thru the woods on a total adrenal rush only to impale himself on someones cast off bed springs,,... off to the vet... Actually, in 11 yrs he had more calamaties that had to be stiTched up, cleaned up than WOODY did in her 15 yrs. (she didn`t get into too much trouble) It was always my Twig man! He never, ever failed to meet me at the back door when I came home, regardless of whether he`d been napping on the couch with Peter. He`d hear the electric garage door and come running, Bridget nor Woody ever did this.(not for me at least)..There were 2 times when he caught a finger nail in the fencing(tryng to catch a wiley squirrel) and hung there screaming until I got him loose... Once would have been enough for me! I could go on and on... lots of good memories, lots of times I`d look at that dog making 12 attempts to jump up onto the bed...I`d scratch my head, wasn`t this the guy who jumps 5 foot wooden fences??? He was my mystery boy - and I loved him dearly.

Well the Vet just called, and TWIG's liver enzymes are off the charts. He is jaundiced, she is treating him with antibiotics but they really won't do any good. As his white blood cell count is normal. Next step would be an Ultrasound of the abdomen, it would positively confirm either CANCER or CHRONIC HEPATITIS, cancer is not treatabe, and the hepatitis can be treated but its a lenthy and costly regime, with no guarantee he'd return to health as he knew it. He could still continue to vomit and have diarhea daily throughout the course of treatment. Plus the ultrasound is done in Toronto, and would be $1000 + So Peter and I have decided the best thing to do is euthenise my baby boy. It really sucks, he's 11 yrs old and also has heart problelms. The vet said with 2 major organs involved its a quality of life issue. The heart meds have helped him get to 11, but now this? Going to be a real shitty day

I didn`t want to say anything to anyone right away, until I had some time under my belt (no pun intended) cause I`ve started, and restarted so many times... that it just gets dreery... Plus, You guys are always so supportive, then when I crash and eat junk again .... then I feel like such a failure. I went and saw a counselor last week, we had a long chat... and she just asked me point blank, So why don`t you just get all the saline withdrawn from your Band and then eat ``to hell with it`` ?? Whoa, that was a good question.... so I decided that I do WANT MY BAND, I don`t want to go back to weighing 240 lbs... I want a healthier life... I don`t want to end up with weight related illnesses.... it was TIME to make a decision. I am trying to find a lapband support group in my area, but that is proving difficult..My clinic used to offer one, but cancelled it for lack of attendance. My counselor dosn`t know of an Eating Disorders Group in this area... so I just have to keep looking. I am buying myself FLOWERS every couple of days to visually REMIND me that I have chosen a healthier PATH... my personality NEEDS instant gratification, so hence the flowers.... hang what it costs, I was spending $5 - $7 a pay on crap anyways... for what!!! To make myself feel worse. SO NO MORE for TODAY... my mini goal is 10 lbs per month, and I think that is doable.

Thanks for the link Janet! I'll ck that out. TWIG is now overnight at the vets; he is dehydrated from not eating or drinking. She thinks he might have pancreatitis or Liver problems, he looked a bit YELLOW to her ( gums and insides of ears) also he could have LIME disease as he had a TICK when we came home from our trip to the US in May... so she is Xraying him, lots of blood work, IV drip... ck on him in the morning... this is gonna be $400-$500 so I hope it is only an infection of some sort that can be fixed with antibiotics!! If its anything worse, then we'll have to cross that hurdle. don't want to think about that right now:frown:

My TWIG-man isn't feeling well either?!?!? Do dogs get virus's??? ANyways, he hasn't been able to keep any food down for a couple of days. When Peter went to give him cheez-whiz with his heart pill in it this a.m. he wouldn't take it. Wouldn't eat dinner either and I jacked it up with some canned food, and hot water... then just now he was lying on my lap tremmors thru his whold body for about 20 mins. and he's licking his lips alot (nausea I think)... Poor dude... I tried giving him some Cheez-whiz again and no luck...he turned his nose up at it... May have to call the vet in the a.m. .. we'll see how it goes. :thumbup:

Still not feeling `well` today. Now my right eye is all red and sore. But I was feeling guilty cause Peter was outside doing all the raking and yard clean-up. So I got down on my hands and knees and cleaned out a HUGE cupboard in my kitchen. Its been driving both of us nuts lately... its my tupperware cupboard... erverytime you open it to find a container.... it all splects out onto the floor...you swear at it and slam the door shut.. vowing to do something about it... but you never doo.... its been gross for over a year!!! I threw out so much plastic, now «i m concerned about the landfill!!!! Making a nice oven supper tonight, Scalloped potatoes, and Baked chicken with stuffing on top... it is an easy recipe and always turns out nice. ANd the leftovers are tasty too. ah... back to the tupperware:rolleyes: I spent some of the day searching the UTUBE for some more songs to learn... I can listen right??? I need more FAST or up tempo songs, don`t want to sound like elevator music right??? John was dissappointed though we were supposed to have a rehersal tonight... thats not gonna happen.

Ha,ha, ha you wouldnt beleive our weather yesterday and today... 18 Celcius... o.k. thats almost 65 or 70 farenheit!!! Then looked at where they sell it in the U.S. there is a store in central Michigan. And I am going on a Fabric shopping trip this weekend to Port Huron, MI.... now its 50 min drive from Pt. Huron, but there is ALSO a quilt store in the same town as the PB2 store... so I am going to try and buy some there.. Is it GOOD?? Worth the money??? Or should I just forget it??? trying to book my flight with air miles... gosh it takes forever o.k. now back,.. finally got it done... Toronto to Palm Springs, SUn 13th March @ 13:45 or 1:45 p.m. in the afternoon. FLy home to Toronto MONDAY 21 March, depart Palm Springs 20:16 or 8:16 p.m. in the evening, fly to LAX, then San Fransico, then Toronto.. its a horrible itinerary home but I'll have 8 hours to kill in S.F.during the night... oh I'd better bring a good book!!! Land in Toronto Tues 22 Mar @ 3:30 in the afternoon. SO Janet; I tried so many masinations of dates and times and this was all that was available.. but at least you won't have to miss work to drive me to the airport :-) There, its for REAL now... Well, after all that planning and training.. I am sitting here in front of the puter... when I should be working the Election!!! After yesterdays gig, my chest started hurting(hasn't felt right in a couple of days) and I lost my voice...and I mean completely!! It's not sore... just vocal chords must be so swollen from a virus they just will not vibrate to make sound. Glad it didn't happen yest. but I am dissappointed in missing the election. PLUS, they will be short handed at the arena... and then people voting will get CRANKY standing in line. Poor Peter is there now, polls opened 30 mins ago and he'll be there until 8 p.m. tonight when they close. Karla: We have to buy Paper leaf bags, rake up all our stuff, amd take the bags to the curb, the town will then have a collection crew come by and take them to the town COMPOST site... once composted they sell back the mulch to the people in town who want it for gardens. We usually have at least 30 bags, no way we could afford to take them all to the dump ourselves. We are not allowed to burn either. We are allowed only 1 bad of trash per week per household, then we have a GREY Bin for PAPER recycles, and a BLUE Box for all other recycles, then we have GREEN bin for kitchen refuse and waste/organic... ITs quite complicated... but its a good cause.. all buckets are picked up at the curb. Off to gargle some salt water!!!

Definetly, go to the party and land some HUNK, besides... you don`t have to go all the way to 3rd base .... just neck and fool around.... make him wait for it.... until JAN 2011 :blushing:

Its weird, we had 6 ``of snow here in the beach, But I drove to Collingwood (Elvis) for an appt. and there the grass was still green!!! They had NO snow at all, now its only 15 mins down the road... go figure:unsure: so they probably didn`t get it in Buffalo....(?) I had a skinny carmel Soy latte, it was my treat, and OH so good.... I try to get one when ever I go to Colling3wood...YUM

During the night we had 6 inches of SNOW FALL.... it slid off the Steel roof and made a WHOMP sound when it hit the ground... Had to go out into the garage find my snow scraper for my car!!! Had to clear 6 " of snow off my car before I could go out to an appt.... OH MY GOSH... what happened to our Indian Summer!!!! The sun is shining HARD right now and as I look outside it is BRIGHT and white... the leaves that I hadn't gotten around to raking up... are now buryied... so I don't have to look at them and think, ahg,, gotta get out there and rake them into bags... I hate that part about fall... it just reminds me that the WINTER is to come... Big black fluffy squirrel just zoomed past my window, he's jumping from tree to tree...
