Sunny, isn't it an awful feeling????? Like, I know she is a good kid, I know she has a good head on her shoulders, I know she makes me proud in so many areas of her life, but I am still scared to death, because in that situation, they just don't think straight. Plus, you got to worry about everyone else going along!!! She works at Chili's as a waitress and some of the male clients are going to go, just to buy her a drink!!! Holy Cow, talk about pressure!!!! When my oldest turned 21, she was studying abroad in London! I wasn't around and didn't know what was happening! Luckily, it wasn't as big of a thing, because she had been able to go to the bars when she arrived there, due to their age being 18. So 4 months later, when her birthday rolled around it wasn't such a big deal!!!! It's different this time!!!! My baby always pushes the envelope!!! I tell her all the time, she's into shock therapy, I swear she does and says things just to push me right over the edge!!! The oldest would say, "I won't drink!" and the youngest would chime in, "I can't wait!!! I'll be pounding them away!!!" My girls are complete opposites, night and day!!! Love them both, but night and day!!!!

I did have a few bites of salad, but I was fearful ... I have read some real horror stories on here, about how a tiny piece can get stuck and all! Yeah, I did have like a birdsize piece of a roll, and it was wonderful, but too afraid to try it. The other lady that got banded the same day as me, eats everything and anything she wants. She has had steak and all kinds of fresh fruits and chocolate and all, but I am chicken!!!! I don't want to have to go back and explain why things aren't working like they are supposed to!!! I know I could eat way more than I am, but after all this, it's not worth it to me to push it or find out!!!

Man, can't wait to see this hot doc!!! WooHoo!!!! Nothing like a hot doc in a roomful of HOTTIES!!! LOL I just spoke w/ the lady that was banded with me and her daughter got her first fill (every time I read that or write that, I go to the dirty side ... what is wrong with me???? LOL), but anyway, they couldn't get it even under the fluoroscopy. It ended up that the port had flipped and it needed to be flipped back around. She said her daughter didn't mind it at all! So hopefully, it won't be too bad!

It sure sounds like quite a few of you should have cancelled the reservations for Aunt Flo!!!!! I think you have made her feel way too welcome!!!!!

Well, have to tell you all ... my baby turns 21 at midnight!!!!! YIKES!!! Talk about a restless and nerve racking night!!!! She just left for the evening and I am a bundle of nerves!!!! I can't wait til these next few days are over!!!! She just thinks her dad and I are way to over reactive, but man, it scares the daylights out of me!!! She did promise not to drive and will stay at a friends, but nonetheless, they are going out too!!!!:nervous Oh well, besides that, we took her to Red Lobster tonight, because that is where she wanted to go ... I'm thinking well, what am I gonna eat there? ... it wasn't bad, I had about 3 bites of salad, 5-6 bites of mashed potatoes, probably 1/4 cup of cooked veggies, and 1/2 of a haddock broiled and lightly seasoned haddock fillet. So wasn't bad, no problems and I am feeling great this evening!!! So there is life after the band!!!! I do enjoy going out once in awhile, it is nice to know we can!!!

wrangler, my regular physician did do bloodwork and said my kidneys reflect that they need more fluids ... so I guess 64 ounces isn't enough and I have to up that!!!!!!

I went to the chiro yesterday and he did an adjustment!!! Whew!!! ... so much better. He said he feels it was from positioning, both during surgery and with the difference in my sleeping habits during the healing process! So much better today!!! Thanks! Hard to believe you can go as early as 1 week post-op without any problems!!!! :clap2:

Lynette, yeah, she is doing fine by spells, but while she and her boyfriend were at the beach last week, got short of breath and numbness in her arms, with chest pain. She went today to the doc and he scheduled her for EKG, stress test, complete bloodwork, blood pressure medication, and a Sleep Study. They feel the majority of her problems are coming from the sarcoidosis, and being my Gram just passed as the result of that, it is a bit overwhelming at the time. My mom wants to have this surgery also. She has started the steps to do that, but if she continues to have all of these other problems, I doubt very much if that will be a possibility!!! I've been trying not to disappoint her, but it is most likely the reality. Thanks for asking though! So many people need prayers these days, it is always something!!! This board is my escape, I love it here!!!

NewCC, I know what you mean about people and their comments. I agree, even the ones that you know mean well, it can drive you nuts! You would like to go somewhere, just once, and not have your weight or lack of or the way you are getting there, be an issue!!! I guess we have to get tough and be able to tell them that we really don't want to have to discuss it 24/7. It's a tough one though!!

Chim, Thanks for the updated calendar!!!! You are excited and rightfully so!!!!! You will be soooo relieved once it is over!! Don't you hate when people act like you need their advice on this????? You are right, all of us have worked our tails off to find out and prepare ourselves as much as possible!!! Other people are just so naive!!! They think they hold all the answers!!!!!
