  1. Good luck... I'm on day# 8. It's been rough for me, but others dot have any problems. It has been much more of a psychological journey than actual hunger
  2. Thanks for the support My day of sleeving is 10/2. I have done well today and got back on track.
  3. I confess too... I had a food funeral moment last night too :/ the weekend has been very difficult for me. We are so busy with family, kids/sports that staying on the pre-op diet has been really hard for me. Not to mention we had a birthday party to attend as well as another family function. I'm back on track today though!
  4. Ha! Cool list I'm in Indianapolis, IN
  5. I went through that right before I got the ins approval & surgery date. Then I just got serious and I've had to surround myself with this forum/support from a friend that had her sleeve this summer and reminding myself of the better life that I'm about to begin.. Hang in there and try to figure out why your actually eating, what emotion or situation are you burying with food? And find another activity to do instead of eating.
  6. Hey there sleeve sister ... Oct 2nd for me too ! Super excited... Although this pre op diet is about to make me crazy- I just keep telling myself that it's worth it
  7. Shades of Hope: How to Treat Your Addiction to food. Author- T. McCarty
  8. Day # 5 of pre-op here too... I've had a few moments of food mourning, I began reading a great book on food addiction .. Because I am finally ready to admit that I am a food addict. So far, the isopure chocolate protein shakes have been great - I'm allowed to have 1/2 cup of cottage cheese in between meals .. Which helps w hunger... And of course lots o water!
  9. Kharold- I love that you said this, so many of us have walked a unique journey and the fact that you have such positive feedback is awesome. I don't think there is a right or wrong approach regarding our surgery, as long as we live healthy/happy lives, that's all that matters good luck to all the secret Sleevers/ open Sleevers !
  10. Ok.. Day #5 of my pre op diet... This may sound a bit silly, but I've started using one of my daughters toddler spoons for my broth/Greek yogurt/sf jello. It makes me eat slower and obviously take smaller bites. Just an idea I thought I'd share
  11. Me too ! Not much longer
  12. ok, so if one meal can be 6 oz chicken, as well as broth, as well as vegatables.. I think one of my dinners will be a modified chicken (no noodle)- soup. What are some other ideas that you all be creating during the next two weeks
  13. oh my goodness... I'm hungry too :/ My 1 meal of meat & veggies helped a little, I decided to make it my lunch, had tuna and spinach. Then shake for dinner and sf black cherry Jello before bed.
  14. If we snack all day doesn't that defeat the purpose of our sleeve? Who here is planning to log their food? Who is not? I know myself, and I have to log to stay on track. The log hold me accountable and makes me be honest with myself
  15. 1st 12 hr shift on pre-op diet... I can do this. Measured snacks & protein shakes ... Away I go
  16. So happy to be able to help others as well as myself through this journey! We are not alone ~ come on Oct 2nd
  17. Yay.. October 2nd has its own 'room'!
