Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Hi Everyone!! I have not posted here since a couple of weeks before I was banded.....and I now realize that I need to have some band buddies because I feel that I am not doing this right!!! I have lost a total of 31 pounds, but most was before the band. I had my 1st fill August 11, then my 2nd fill, September 12 and I only lost 4 lbs for that month! The Dr. said it was fine, since I was at the low end for BMI on the lap band, 41, but I feel that I could have lost 4 lbs without the band! I really don't feel full when I eat, (only sometimes can I tell I have the band). I thought it would be more consistent. I am exercising, about 2-3 miles a day, walking. HELP!! I need to get on track regarding eating...... Can someone tell me what they have for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & any snacks for a day? That would help me a lot!!

What does restriction feel like??
Hi Everyone, Thank you all for your insight....I am feeling much better now, 9 days since the operation....I'm so glad the people who responded really calmed me down!! I think you were right TerriDoodle, it was probably just swelling and extreme restriction, I'm still on a liquid diet and it definitely feels much better!! It is so difficult to know what to expect your body to feel like, Thank God for the LapBandTalk.......I would be a basket case without all the info here!!!

What does restriction feel like??
Hi Everyone, I'm a new bander, just banded July 21. Today (which is 5 days post-op I feel WIERD......is this what restriction is: -feeling like I have to sit straight up (when I slouch it feels like I ate too much) and I only have had small amounts of liquid today. -feels like when I would eat too much before being banded -feels like I have to burp -feels like if I did try to eat dinner (liquids) I couldn't -I guess I feel full, but really have not had much! So Expert banders what is restriction supposed to feel like....the above??? and when should "restriction" after you eat (liquids) get back to normal "restriction" so that you can eat your next meal....hope that makes sense??:grouphug: Thank you for all your help!!!!:grouphug:

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Some info for the logs.... Chimboree Yes, my surgery is on a Saturday!! It works out great since my husband has to be Mr. Mom!! My current weight is 275, 5'8", was there any other information you need for the spreadsheet? I have started weening myself off of some foods, I've been off of coffee for 4 days, and no sugar/sugary foods for 2 days. My Dr. also has a Pre-Op diet/Liquid for 8 days before surgery. I can't imagine going from regular eating one day to lap band eating the next day! I would be definitely setting myself up for DISASTER!!! I just don't want to not succeed at this like I have all the other diets that I have been on. I really get worried about that?...anyone else have these same fears?? Good Luck to everyone who is getting their lap band in the next couple days!!:clap2:

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
To Everyone flying to get their band..... I just called Delta Airlines ( I will be flying in 2 weeks to Mexico) and requested the bulkhead seat for the flight back, I can't imagine being in a squished seat just having surgery. This is what they told me: -1st they entered the request in the database under my reservation, -then they said when I arrive at the airport to request the bulkhead seat and -I am also going to bring a note from the doctor that I just had surgery. The airlines always hold bulkhead seats for the day of travel. I guess I just need to get to the airport early to insure this works!! Makes me feel so much better, I'll be able to stretch out a little more!!:biggrin1:

Fill Doctor For Kentucky Girl
Vicki & s_springston - I have done a good amount of research and I thought that I was going to go to Monterey and get banded by Dr. Rumbaut, but the banding day, July 24 (mid week stay) they offer a discount but the airfare was too high.....not that money alone was going to make my decision. I never had the opportunity to speak to anyone but the patient representative (she is wonderful) but I thought that I should look around. Dr. Oritz, Dr. Huacruz so I did and I ended up on Dr. Gonzalez website and I was very impressed, so I made a call and actually was able to talk to one of his team. Wow, I was really impressed, he took the time to answer my questions and I am very impressed by the facilities and all the wonderful reviews on this site. Well I ending up deciding this is the team for me. Vicki, we are going to meet!......he had an opening July 21, (so awesome that he does weekends!) Now we will be banding buddies!!
