Eating at Disney
Am headed to Disney on Saturday & looking for some info/advice on eating (post-sleeve) there. So for those of you who have been to Disney since surgery, a few questions: - Do Disney dining places accept the little surgery card to let you order smaller or kids portions? -Do they allow sharing of meals, or is it more that you're paying for the experience? -Any tips or tricks for eating healthy & staying with high Protein, low carb while eating at the parks? Any tips or advice is welcomed!

6 Months and 99 Pounds Lost w Pic
I try really hard to stick to no more than 30-40g of carbs, at least 60-65g of protein & 80-100oz of water. That combo has worked for me. I also track everything on myfitnesspal.com. My name on there is livvsmum if you want to friend me & see my logs you are welcome to :-)

You are so close to your goal! You are doing amazingly as well!! Thank you on your kind words! I hope to be able to run my whole 5K too... The training is hard, but every time I complete a run I feel amazing. :-)

Would you do it again?
Absolutely ....in a heartbeat! I had a little bit of buyers remorse in the first 2 weeks.... but mainly because I'm not sure there's much that can *really* prepare you for the emotional changes if you are an emotional eater.....but since then, I have not regretted it for one single minute. I have, though, been sad that I didn't do it about 10 years earlier!

Sorry it took me so long to reply! I would say the key for me has been sticking to the "basics".... I do no more than 30-40g of carbs per day, at least 60g of Protein, and 80-100 oz of Water. That keeps me feeling full and satisfied for the most part. I also started running and I really enjoy that. :-) Good luck!

6 Months Post-Op & 100.2 Pounds Lost w Pics
Thank you! Yes, I do work out. I've found that I really love it and it is "me time" :-) Probably my only regret related to this whole weight loss journey is that I didn't start working out until 4 months post op. I should have started much sooner. I don't know what I was afraid of!

Easter Challenge
I'm definitely in again too! These challenges always keep me motivated. I also like having the weigh in days on a weekend or Monday because it "keeps me honest" over the weekend. I'm a lot more motivated to hit my daily nutrition goals when I have a weigh-in looming the next day or so. :-)

Did your life change for the better or worse post VSG?
I would say YES to all of the statements in the original post! Lol. I just posted my 6 month post op update on my blog (linked in my signature) and I talked about just that....all the wonderful ways my life has changed. And an added bonus is that I keep being told I look 10 years younger :-)
-
How often do you weigh yourself?
Once per day, first thing in the morning

6 Months Post-Op & 100.2 Pounds Lost w Pics
I can't say the 2nd 50 was any harder than the first. Honestly what has worked for me is sticking to "the basics"..... no more than 40 carbs, at least 60g protein, and at least 64 oz of water. No big secret other than those :-)

6 Months Post-Op & 100.2 Pounds Lost w Pics
Thought I would post this to encourage someone. I feel like a totally different person and have learned a lot about myself through this process. I've learned that I'm very goal-oriented, I've learned that when I take the time to take care of myself I'm a more balanced person, I've learned that the sleeve doesn't "cure" emotional eating & I've learned that success takes really, really hard work & perseverance! :-) Anyway...my "official " 6 month pics :-)

St. Patrick's Day Challenge

It's a small world! Lol. I'm pretty boring as far as food goes. I've found things that work & stick with them. Breakfast is usually a Protein shake, lunch is usually chicken salad, or some version of protein (lean), dinner is more chicken/fish/occasionally a red meat & maybe a little veggie. Snacks usually include Greek yogurt (my favorite), a fat free cheese stick, or a 1/2 serving oh peanuts. I try to always stick to my numbers (no more than 40g carbs, at least 65 protein, and try for 100 oz of water). Those are the magic numbers for me :-) I don't worry too much about calories at this point. I average 500-600 on a high day. As for exercise, like I said above I am training for a 5k so interval training for 60 minutes 3 times a week...nothing too major :-) You can also friend request me in myfitnesspal if you want. I track every single thing. That has been huge for me. My name on there is livvsmum

I think that is part of what bugs me the most. Now I'm stuck at 1 pound away from 100 lost and normally I would head to the gym and work that pound off ....lol. This was not perfect timing. :-)

To Exercise or Not When You are Sick
So I have a pretty bad cold, swollen glands, runny eyes, the whole 9 yards. I feel really crappy, but don't want to get out of the routine of going to the gym. My friend mentioned that working out when you're sick can sometimes weaken the immune system and make it harder to get over it. What do you all think? Do you work out when you are not feeling great, or take some time off to rest up?

Thank you all, you're sweet. :-) That's too funny that you say that about my kids. I've had a couple people tell me that I look a lot younger now, not knowing that I had surgery. I guess that is an unexpected benefit! :-)
