  1. UHC denied me after saying my coverage included weight loss surgery. They said I didn't have enough co-morbidity. I guess you have to be half dead.

They said since I was under 40 BMI and I didn't have significant co-morbidity that I did not qualify. I have bad knee and high collesterol but I guess that is not enough.
  3. My ins just denied me. I have a BMI of 36 but I have had surgery on both knees and high collesterol. They said I didn't have enough co-morbidity. I guess you have to be dying. I am so frustrated.

Hi TJ. I have UHC too. They kept losing and misrouting my paperwork. I called them last night and they said they denied me because I didn't have any co-morbidity. I guess you have to be half dead before they will approve. I am so frustrated.
  5. I think that is a requirement in Texas too but my insurance keeps misplacing stuff. They have had it since April. When I called last week they said it had been misrouted. Is there anything you can do about incompetence?
  6. I know how you feel. I have been waiting on Insurance since March 2. My secondary insurance keeps misplacing things and misrouting it. It is so frustrating.
  7. That is too funny. Right now I would just like to hear from my insurance company. They keep losing my information. They have had it since the middle of April. I called them today and they said they had routed it wrong so they were going to resubmit it. 10 days ago they had misplaced my denial from my primary and were going to expedite it. So much for expediting it. Thanks for your response.
  8. Who do you have insurance with?
  9. Hi Becky, I am waiting to hear from my insurance. Your weight loss is unbelievable. Is that typical? You are doing great. I hope my experience will be as good as yours.
  10. Who is your insurance with. I too am waiting for insurance approval. I have been waiting since March 9. They keep saying they have not received the denial from my primary which we have faxed to them numerous times. I have United Healthcare EPO.
  11. Yes, you should consider yourself lucky. My doctor's appointment was March 2 and I am still waiting on word from the insurance company. My primary denied it so now I am waiting on my secondary. Their 30 days should be up on the 15. Say a prayer for me.
  12. Thank you for the information. That is what I needed to know. Thanks
  13. How much protein are you supposed to eat in a day to keep your hair from falling out? Also, how do you get that much protein out of a liquid diet?
  14. I just turned 59 and am trying to get approval from my insurance company. While I am waiting I have had a lot of time to think about things. I have a question for the older women who have the band. Do you have a lot of excess skin and wrinkles when you lose? I am about 36BMI now. I know I will have some excess skin because of my age but does your skin shrink at all at this age? Thanks for any info you can give me.
  15. I went for my first doctor's appt. on March 1 and I am still waiting to hear from my secondary insurance to see if they will cover the surgery. One thing that has slowed it down was the doctor's office failed to send them the decline from my primary insurance carrier. So then they faxed it to them and the 30 days counting started all over. I think I will call the insurance company tomorrow to make sure they haven't lost it.
