  1. Any other Zumba enthusiasts post-sleeve out there? Zumba is first exercise I've done consistently and I've taken 3-5 classes per week for the past four years. My post-op down time will be my longest break EVER! So, how soon after surgery did you start back into your Zumba classes? I don't use weights in every class, but plan on using light wights (3 pounds TOTAL) whenever I resume.
  2. I'm preop still and loved it as an afternoon snack. I've wondered about if it was a sleeve friendly item. I certainly hope so
  3. Well now you know. There are PAWGs and whooties (white girls with a booty). I don't know who makes these things up lol
  4. If you don't mid me asking, what does your diet consist of? Only shakes and veggies? Can you have unlimited anything? I know we all have different doctors and thus, different pre op diets. It hasn't been easy for ANYONE regardless :-) but I've tried my best to stay with it, even if it meant going to bed at 830 to beat the late night munchies.
  5. Wowie zowie! I can certainly see it! Keep up the good work
  6. I'm a August 19th'er with Dr. Wegner in Memphis, Tn!! Are my fellow future sleevers ready? I started packing my bag today just to be sure I don't forget anything important!!
  7. Not about that life indeed lol. However I once had what resembled an acupuncture pin put through the top part of my ear because it supposedly curtailed hunger and caused weight loss (not my proudest moment). Shoot some of my family believe my upcoming sleeve procedure is the craziest thing they've heard of. So while I do not understand, I will refrain from judging.
  8. What a pretty lady and your freckles are ADORABLE. So you lost 35 pounds since surgery or since the preop diet? I'm not firing on all cylinders today! In either case, your progress is awesome!
  9. I have a youtube channel, and plan on doing so. The reason I decided to do so was because I haven't been open about it and only a handful of people know. I do believe that a good support system will help me as I am single. So youtube and VST provide me with the opportunity to talk it out (free therapy yay), have accountability, develop a support system of sorts, and inform others that have or are considering doing the same.
  10. So you weren't sensitive to either before the surgery? I can't imagine how difficult that must be.
  11. Dude! This is the best! Will save me from wasteful spending on culinary nastiness and hopefully introduce me to some tasty things I never would have tried otherwise.
  12. I don't know the name of it, but there is another thread of people looking for my fitness pal friends (or as I like to call them accountability partners). It is under food and nutrition. I'm still trying to figure out how my fitness pal with friends works, but need friends first lol.
  13. Deakay you made me choke on my Protein shake!! I keep hoping that my general shape will remain the same as I lose weight (minus some lumps and bumps of course) and you're giving me hope. Obvi Im not a PAWG, but in an interracial relationship. While my boyfriend is supportive, he has some concerns that I will magically transform a waif. Ive told him I essentially had the same shape my entire life, there's just more or less of it. At the end of the day, I'm doing this for ME-so adjust accordingly or spare me the drama. I have enough going on.
  14. Wonderful news MsBadu!!! It won't be long now. . . My surgery is less than a week away and I'm on pins and needles lol
  15. What a great idea. I'm jslindzy
  16. I'm pre op, but purchased some a few days ago after someone mentioned them on VST. My pre op diet allows for about 3 oz of a lean meat. I tried them the other night and thought they probably were the perfect post op size. They weren't very seasoned, but maybe that's a good thing following surgery?
  17. Oh my gosh as a single woman I would make these all the time and freeze them with 1-2 cupcakes per bag. I'd then defrost as needed. In considering my post-op life, I'd forgotten all about these!
  18. Wait do they recommend the thighs or not? I typically buy boneless skinless thighs because breasts tend to be dry, but I'm just curious as you your center's rationale? I have a slow cooker balsamic recipe that's rather tasty. I typically used thighs but i guess it would work with breasts. 190 calories 26 gram of protein per serving, and 4 net carbs. http://m.skinnyms.com/slow-cooker-balsamic-chicken/
  19. Same general principle, just use two to four spoonfuls of instant sugar free pudding powder in lieu of the crystal light. Then prepare the shake as you normally would with skim milk or whatever milk product you typically use. You can add fruit or ice if you prefer and blend.
  20. For my vanilla, I use dymatize all natural elite whey protein, but I think probably any vanilla will do. Then I add one or a half of those crystal light packets made for the individual water bottles (depending on how "intense" I want the flavor. For the cheesecakes or banana creme, I add about one to two spoonfuls of sugar free jello instant pudding. The banana creme is really good with half a banana blended in. The nectar roadside lemonade is my favorite pre made powder of all and I just add a bit of strawberry lemonade powder and water to make it different
  21. I'm still pre op but so far I'm a fan of the powders. I feel like it is a better bargin. I also like the idea of customizing the vanilla protein powder by adding crystal light or sugar free pudding to it. Thus far I've had a orange, cheesecake, banana creme, and strawberry watermelon. It sure beats having a 12 pack of just vanilla or chocolate. I've heard that tastes change post op so curious to see if I will continue to prefer the powder.
