  1. How would you find that? Congrats original poster on having your date!
  2. I'm pre-op and don't know if Wendy's chili is on this phase (I'm sure you all will let me know) but couldn't you add a scoop of unflavored protein to that? How about making your own protein beverage with nectar roadside lemonade and water? If it still doesn't taste "lemonade-y" enough add a little lemonade crystal light before adding water
  3. So glad to hear that you are doing well. I've been combing the boards for information regarding what to expect before, during, and after surgery. Now I'm one week away! From your experience, was there anything that surprised you or you wish someone had told you beforehand?
  4. I'm down 10 pounds as well LSU and the 19th can't get here soon enough. In our pre op we have the choice of protein bars or shakes. Thanks to you guys, my newfound discovery of quest bars and adding crystal light to vanilla protein shake powder to "customize" them has made it more interesting. Side note: as an Ole Miss law alum, this may be the most cordial conversation I've ever had with a LSU fan lol
  5. Congrats to you and thanks for the explanation
  6. Shut. The. Front. Door. You look AMAZING!! Thank you for sharing!
  7. What is this swallow test that you speak of? I think I've only seen it mentioned once or twice, but have no clue what it is.
  8. I'm sure there are alot of August 19th'ers on here! My brain is exhausted from all of the see-sawing from unbridled excitement to parlyzing fear. lol. Best of luck to everybody!
  9. I believe you are right and the requirements of your surgical center and insurance company may vary. I initally dealt with a surgical center that required me to use this particular psychiatrist for psych evaluations. No one else. However, he only did them two days a week. Same thing with the sleep study people. At that rate, they could only see me two to three months later. So I consulted with a different facility, and they just wanted the evaluation wtih a licensed person in my area. If I had remained with the first place, I would have had my sleep consultation (not the study) at the end of July and likely would have just now had my study done. My appointment with "their" psych guy would have been later this month. Instead, I'm nine days away from having my SURGERY . I don't know where you live, but if they insist on that one year rule, you may want to check with other facilities in your area. Just sayin. Good luck to you.
  10. I heard the same thing even as I waited to pre-op testing. In fact it was that kind of talk that deterred me from exploring the option of surgery two years ago. Howver, nothing anyone says can replace the gift of good health! My blood pressure, glucose levels, and joints will undoubtedly thank me once it is all said and done.
  11. Yum indeed. I have already printed this recipe out and plan on trying it when I graduate to this phase. I've always been a fan of any kind of crab/shrimp bisque and this one sounds dee-lish!
  12. I want to have a Spanx bonfire and burn every piece of shapewear I own. Also it would be nice to sit indian style in a airplane seat. I've seen grown adult women do this and looked on in amazement. lol. Lastly, I'd like to particpate in a race and not have partipants and bystanders alike yell YOU GO GIRL as i pass by. Yes, America larger people run races.
  13. I am an attorney (or as my brother would say a liar-awyer) working for good ol' Uncle Sam, the United Stated Federal Government in the northern Mississippi/Memphis area. I'm a mere nine days away from beginning my sleeved life. I'm impressed by the diversity of professions represented on this topic, but there seem to be a whole lot of nurses.
  14. Jo I was afraid of that and my doctor said the same thing. Parting is such sweet sorrow *sniff*. If I can't get these things back in post op, I will just have to consider that phase over. I don't think i'd get them pierced again :-(
  15. Possibly the best entry title EVER. Ok, of the summer for sure! Twoderville can't wait to welcome its newest resident. Just dont' become tooooo comfortable there, because one-derland awaits. I'm preop and I think my feelings will likely be very similar to yours. I keep thinking that I must willingly suspend my disbelief and know that IT IS WORKING! Chances are, I can see myself becoming seriously bruised from pinching myself. Congrats again!
  16. What is a ticker? Obvi I'm a little slow. . .
  17. That's wonderful news! I was on pins and needles while waiting to hear back. Once I got approval, I felt elated and scared senseless at the same time. Good luck to ya!
  18. What an excellent post! I'm ten days away and am petrified of the unknown. I am also single and live three hours away from family. A cousin has kindly agreed to stay with me for a week, but in the back of my mind I wondered if a week was enough. Your chronicle has reassured me that it should be. Thanks for sharing!
  19. For me, one burpee is one too many! However, im only up to one set of five. I am pre-op (surgery will be on the 19th). Hopefully it will get better once there's less of me to hoist up.
  20. Whoop whoop very excited for you! Its a victory to have jumped through all those hoops that insurance companies insist upon! I'm in Tupelo but am having my procedure done in Memphis on the 19th. Best of luck and keep us posted.
  21. Wonderful news! A few more days until you start your pre-op diet. It will be here before you know it!
