When do the "bubble guts" go away?
Everything that I drink makes my new tummy (4 days post op) feel like I have bubbles rolling around in there. When does this go away?

Medications After Surgery
I couldnt imagine swallowing a pill right now (4 days post op). Yes, I would just crush them and swallow.

Oh my myyyyyyy dinner was so good!
Thanks for the reassuring response. I am at that stage now where I feel like I've gotten a tattoo and I'm not quite sure if I like it or not. I just attempted to warm up some broth and I added some chicken broth flavored protein powder. The smell affected me in a very adverse way. I almost threw up which would be AWFUL right now. I flipped the stove off real quick, moved the pot and had to leave the room.

Well today is it, surgery in 3.5 hours.
I am actually. The incision where he pulled my stomach out through is really the only one that hurts. I just walked around down through all of the corridors and I can honestly say, besides the initial pain from waking up I'm really surprised at how much I blew this out of proportion in my own mind.

Well today is it, surgery in 3.5 hours.
Wish me luck folks! I have to be at the hospital by noon and surgery starts at 2. I cannot beleive it's finally here. I've made a kind of spiritual peace with all of it and I'm not nervous or scared anymore. I am looking forward to my new life and all that it will afford me. Thank you for your inspiration, motivation and insight up until this point. The next time you hear from me, I'll be on the losers bench. Much love Alan

5-minute homemade Hummus
Sounds delicious. Question, does that much garlic overpower the hummus?

I got to stop getting On the scale everyday
I've been reading a few reports like this on these boards. Do you think you're gonna get the surgery and drop 50 pounds within the first month? If you do, no offense, get a grip. This is not reality.

Thanks everyone, I'm telling myself that this is all temporary and that food isnt going anywhere. Tomorrow I think I will probably sleep most of the day honestly.

17 hours into liquid diet and Im starving! lol
It was a breeze actually. Just had to drink that barium which has the same consistancy as chalk Water. What was really neat, if you get a chance you can see inside of your own body which is always interesting (at least to me).

I'm sure this will get easier after I have surgery Tuesday but not eating is psychologically weird.

Surgery in 4 days, Nervous energy and Unsatisfying reactions from people you're close to.
So this last month or so I've really been through with most of my appointments except the pre op and as the date gets closer and closer I am having boughts of nervous energy about it. Thoughts of "am I sure I cannot do this on my own" and "I know I am surrounded by people (online and at work) that have had amazing experiences but there was that one story where she died and that other story where that guy wasnt able to drink anything for days"... I've never had surgery before and I've always wondered what being put under was like but what if I turn out like that lady on Oprah who had surgery and was asleep but was really awake during the whole thing but couldnt say anything? Its all very noisy in my head about this sometimes. Also has anyone else noticed that people sometimes SHUT DOWN when you try to talk to them about this? It's the weirdest thing to me... people I am close with, when I tell them I get such a lukewarm reaction. I am not expecting a parade or anything but I do tend to think that if you care about me you would at least look up from the game you're playing to get some specifics and not just pretend I am going in for a simple checkup when in actuality I am having major abdominal surgery. And also the most unexpected people have been the most open and supportive. Do you think I am totally within my right mind to use this experience to gauge who in my life is important and who needs reevaluation? Alan

I'll take 'Crazy things you never hear fat people say for $1000 Alex'. lol I wish I loathed food. I really do.

isopure?
Did you like them?

Why am I not seeing any difference?
When you have a ton of weight to lose there is fat inside of your body that surrounds your organs. You're losing fat there are well and it wont be all that noticable (but much easier on your insides!) For most people who are large I hear the threshold of when people start noticing you're losing weight is around 65-75 pounds.
