  1. What's weird is I am not able to handle broth post surgery. I've tried twice and both times I almost threw up. It's the ONLY thing I've had an adverse response to.
  2. I was on clear liquids for 2 days before surgery and I lost almost 20 pounds. The clear liquids faze really sucks.
  3. It's any marijuana really (legal or not). 420 is just a way of not saying it.
  4. I don't like keeping secrets because I am not ashamed of my decision. At first I romantisized keeping this whole thing a secret, even from my mother but then I thought against it because if anything happened while I was having surgery it wouldnt be fair to her that she at least didnt know. I struggled with that for a while. But I strive to live a transparent life and in that transparancy there may be oppurtunities to touch other people's lives with my story. I already have, twice (that I know of) and at the end of the day... people greivances about my decisions have nothing to do with me. So I do my best not to concern myself with them. It makes for a much happier me.
  5. My surgeon told me 2 weeks before surgery and 2 weeks after.
  6. The ladies on this forum are so helpful. Thank you all.
  7. Omg my heart monitor kept going off too when I slept it was SO ANNOYING. In fact I was pretty grouchy to the nurse about it because it woke me up repeatedly.
  8. I know they're a sign of healing... I'm just being rowdy about it. lol What are water blisters?
  9. I wash them with soap and water daily in the shower.
  10. I LOVE posts like this. Thank you, that was a good amount of food. As soon as I can actually eat food again I'll post some pics like this.
  11. I'm not sure you understand... genepha was posting the meal she prepared and then how much she ate of the meal to give us a general understanding of how much she was able to eat 3 months post op. She wasn't just posting food to post food. Just a friendly clarification.
  12. It's been twinging a little but today, my God these are so itchy and I cant touch them... I was not stapled shut, I have the liquid stitches so I can't touch them because of their covering and the itching is killing me. How long does this last? 6 days post op.
  13. Congrats! And: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/10081-the-official-what-you-will-need-for-your-gastric-sleeve-surgery-thread/
  14. I'm day 6 now and I understand what you're going through. I get tired easily and I think yesterday I overdid it a bit but I am finally starting to feel better.
  15. I say DO IT! You're just going to sit around in anxiety until then if you wait. Like I did. lol
  16. Weight loss aside, if you're finally able to step into your power and there is an adverse response then that alone should be cause for pause. I am a firm beleiver that anytime you make any life changing decisions there will always be casualties, sometimes these casulaties are obvious and easy but sometimes they are hard and hit closer to home. I remember an interview Oprah did with Carrie Underwood and Carrie was telling her that once she got famous there were good, close friends of her that started acting "weird" and distanced themselves. Oprah said it was the oxygen effect. The higher she rose, people started dropping off because they couldnt take it. This applies to our personal lives as well. Think about that for a moment.
  17. Absolutly, I would recommend the RNY to someone who was grossely obease or had other major comorbidies like diabetes or a severe addiction to sugar as the RNY produces a dumping syndrome. You have 85 pounds the lose, the sleeve is perfect for you... between the two surgeries. Just my humble opinion.
  18. Okay I understand. I was lost in semantics for a moment. Our beliefs are very similar... I do not view God in the limitations of religion. I sense God as the DNA of our entire consciousness. 'I am because we are' kind of thing.
  19. Being gay is not a choice but faith is. There is a difference.
  20. If I'm laying down I don't feel it at all but what you're describing is exactly what I'm feeling. I hate my meds. They taste so nasty so I haven't been taking them. If I hold it in I can be a little more mobile and move arou d but the second I forget it kind of feels like a spasm of pain. Annoying
  21. Just really think about it. I'm post op day 5 and its no walk in the park, that's for sure.
  22. Post op day 5. The muscle group under the largest incision is still in a ton of pain when I walk. Is this normal? I thought by now it would go away but it's not and even the liquid pain meds don't calm it down. Anyone else have this issue post op?
  23. I guess I don't understand "falling off the wagon"... your sleeve is designed to restrict what you eat, meaning that whatever you eat you will eat less of. Just eat till your sleeve tells you that you're full and you're going to lose weight. I've seen plenty of people who just listen to their sleeves and eat what they want and lose plenty of weight. Obviously this is going to be an unpopular answer but everyone is different.
