  7. Popcorn post surgery at this point could cause major issues and I'm still on puréed foods. My NUT won't even allow me breads or waffles til 5-6 mo out and even then very limited.
  8. I'm 2.4 weeks sleeved, and have done 12 blocks at a time around my neighborhood. I've had some problems with weakness but I'm in, although late and not sure i can hit 100 I will try Needing to keep motivated, my 1 yr goal is a half marathon, my short term is a 2 mile fun run on Thanksgiving. Most people call me Phay or Phae, short for my name Phaedra.
  9. Great job. Hoping I can have results like that also.
  10. To an extent that's how I felt. Try drinking slower, then it won't hurt as much, I was bloated for about a week and a half. Milk of mag saved my life, and a heating pad does wonders.
  11. During the liquid phase I had a funeral and reception to attend. I took shakes and soup to eat. But you are going to a buffet? Maybe just do the soups and since you don't want to tell them, say you aren't hungry or your a little under the weather. I have told everyone and am amazed by my support. Good luck.
  12. I decided right out of surgery to post about my journey on fb. Everyone knows. My friends have been incredibly supportive. The one thing I posted was PLEASE EAT in FRONT of ME. I even had to good friends over week 1 post op and bought them a pizza, so they would eat. I no tell people what it's like being me and what my meals consist of. Educating your friends and family will help you get through this, so I've been told.
  13. Try a gentle lead available to pet stores for minimal cost, then both you and your four legged bestie can get your walk on
  14. I've been walking all along, about 2-4 15-30 minutes a day. I have a 90 retriever cross. The first week and a half someone had to walk him. I know out his gentle leader on him and I walk. Him. He hates when it pulls his head if he tries to go against me, good luck.
  15. Everyone is different. For me I felt extremely bloated for about a week and a half after surgery.
  16. I haven't had that happen but I noticed one of my thinner friends since I had surgery has been kinda distant. The more I waft to share my experience the more she wants to talk about herself. Maybe I just notice it more now. Hang in there. Maybe if you and your friend start working out together and you keep that bond, then she will not feel like she will lose you.
  17. I kinda was there too. But go on line and look up all the healthy fall soups. I went today to get powdered pnut butter protein so I can add to my shakes and Change up the flavors. Don't get discouraged. We are all in theis together. And if you can find the thread on here for my dirty little secret, it is funny and factual about what we are all going through
  18. I'm just 3 weeks and struggling to get my calories in with my protein and liquid.
  19. Bgood, We have a carb esccentials store near us. That is where I get mine. Unflavored unjury has 23 grams of protein per scoop. So you can mix it with pretty much anything. For protein drinks I like the vanilla unjury mixed with the choc chike protein drink.
  20. Have you tried sprinkling the unjury unflavored into your foods?
  21. I called my Dr yesterday and they said it probably is do to low calorie intake. I was getting about 500 calories a day but I was getting all my protein and water. They told me to go up 300 to 400 calories. Thanks
  22. How long after surgery can you start running. My dr said, walking, walking in treadmill, elliptical or stationary bike only at this time
  23. You look great! How long did it take for you to start jogging, running after your surgery?
  24. I guess maybe I should ask what my calorie intake should be. The first week home was about 300 cal. Now I'm between 500-700 on puréed but the only thing my dr really focused on was protein and fluids. Thanks, ill call tomorrow.
