Tired mama hi I have a choice of either the sleeve or gastric bypass, they discover I had hypro viro and now my surgeons are suggestion gastric bypass because of this . There are so many people on the waiting list for surgery that rumors are surgery won't be until May but since I didn't hear that from my surgeon my fingers are cross .

SLK248 hi I attend my last 6 month requirement on Jan 4 2014, I have already completed my psy eval, exercise class, nutrition class. So after I completed my last class in Jan all I will have to do is meet the surgeon , I switch surgeons and program got a center of excellence doctor the beginning of this month so now I'm looking at late February or early March for surgery unless someone cancels . I am already on the cancel list lol.

I received a call as well and they fax scripts to my doctors office then I was told my insurance would not cover them, I was so bum.

Thank you everyone I was required to do a 6 month supervised weight management and I will be done with that on jan 4/2014 the referral was for my approval to meet with the baractric surgeon for my final approval and evaluation, they called today to schedule a surgical consultation,schedule my surgery, meeting with dietician as well as medical clearance. I also had to have my surgery at a center of excellence which my program is Thank a God .

My pc sent my referral for surgery and today I received a letter from my insurance date for referral approved for 6 months what happens now ?

I agree with the above statements, I would rather be healthier and happy with loose skin then unhealthy and depress with ongoing health issues .

Wow I guess one things for sure preparing for this surgery sure teaches you patience and due diligence . I just know I would treat each patients paperwork like it was my own and complete it and process it in a timely matter, these delays can have a devastating effect especially when ones insurance is changing and they have been planning for this for awhile . All I was fixated on was 6 months , but I see it can take longer than that , I thank everyone who has shared my frustrations and given me support and encouragement , because only those who is going through this procedures understands our frustrations .

Thank you everyone I see you have to constantly ensure everyone is filling your paperwork out and submitting it on time, I will no longer take anyone's word , I want a copy of everything that was sent and confirmation . I did not also that waiting list for surgery can be this long as well. Thank God for this board and nice people like you all are, I feel much better thank you again .

Hi everyone I thought i would be having surgery at the end of Jan 2014, found out I can not have surgery until March 2014, I was a little bit bum out since all of my appointments have been at the begining of each month. But now I official have a surgeon consultation the first week of March. Did anyone have to wait almost 8 months from start to finish before having surgery?

Candycrushvsg are you choosing the sleeve because the doctor does more of that particular surgery or are you choosing this because it is what you truly want , I think I will be nervous going back underneath the knife to loose more weight when I could have had the rny .best of luck .

Tkauhi You know this seems to be a common practice, I had to request my referral 3 times then today I just went to the doctor and sat their until I had it in my hand, they sent my referral to the wrong doctor and hospital, dont give up , be presistent, I still have to meet with my surgeon and they will be submitting everything after 1/4/13. So I feel your pain but we will prevai.
