  1. Can't speak to Texas General, but Victory is very nice, hospital and staff!
  2.    shadylady_57 reacted to a post in a topic: Longview, tx
  3. Doing good. Have been busy here, made a quick trip to Ga to get a cargo trailer. Got home early this morning. Struggling with the full liquids, really want to eat but dr Kim starts puréed at three weeks.
  4. I have a nutribullet, and love it! I ran the cream soups thru it and then strained as instructed, nothing strained out. The extractor blade is the best.
  5. My husband had to do four weeks. Purpose is to shrink the liver since they have have to up behind it to do the surgery. So as hard as it may be stick to the diet.
  6. Surgery went well, have been up and walking and drinking clear fluids. Should be back at the hotel sometime this afternoon.
  7. Well things went well, we have both been up and walking and drinking fluids this morning. Should be back at the hotel this afternoon and headed home tomorrow.
  8. Will be on our way to the hospital soon! Just a walk across the hotel parking lot!
  9. Had type and cross drawn today and will check in tomorrow for surgery. Hopefully will be discharged and headed home late Wednesday .
  10. Dr's office only giving me 4 wks, will talk to them again at postoperative visit. Would have liked 6 wks with option to return early.
  11. Seems to be several of us nurses here, I'm also a little scared. Not about the surgery but about the after care. My husband and I are being sleeved on the same day. The kids are grown and out of the house. So a little worried about taking care of both of us after wards.
  12. Dr Kim in Dallas is doing ours, Tuesday.
  13. My husband and I are using Dr Kim but at Victory Medical Center in Hurst this Tuesday, 12/17/13.
  14. Your right about the cost, can check out uniform city, I have found good sells there. My PRN job not only requires a certain color but also limits us to one brand...Cherokee, one of the most expensive on the market!
  15. I also wear scrubs more than anything else. I've needed new ones for a while now but we have been working towards this since April so have put off buying new ones. Will pick up one or two sets before returning to work. For winter clothes, I bought several empire style tops and have leggings to go with. I'll pick a pair or two of jeans (wal-mart, goodwill, etc) as needed as I drop weight. Can't really see spending a lot on clothes until I stabilize at least.
