  1. And even if the wax lasted a week, it's still a hair free week. Beyond a week, most people don't have heaps of trouble bending, so the theory is still valid.
  2. Sunwyse, I have PCOS. Have had since puberty. A wax will last for 3 weeks. Always did for me anyway, and I am a hairy beast (paying for the ILP to prove it too) So there is no point in explaining PCOS to me. Sadly I know all too well
  3. I did just what you said SickNTired. I told them that I think I will do well in their store, and that I have faced a tougher job (training staff, and promotions **puke**) and survived, that I would be a fab addition to their company, despite having been at home caring for my late FIL, and my son for the last 4 years. That I was just the best there was, and that they wont find better sort of thing. And I got the job. Just got the call. I start in 2 weeks  So, thanks for all the luck ladies. That sucks. Is it long before you get another appointment? And are you still going band? Or is the VSG the way you are headed now? (or was that someone else? I admit I do get confused at times)
  4. Posting to say I have a job interview today, and I am nervous. Dammit I hate this part. I will be fine when I get there, but before I get in there, I will be a quivering mess. Wish me luck.
  5. Started at 297lbs, and have been at 107lbs for the last two years. A hell of a lot more than 50% lost and kept off, so I didn't vote as none of the options reflected my situation.
  6. It's not a "plan" as such, but I have talked to my Dr about a sleeve should anything go wrong with my band. He is all for sleeving me should the need arise. I had a scare early this month (and a surgery to shorten my band's tube), we both had time to think about it, and it's the way I/we are going should anything happen.
  7. I don't recall having issues shaving as a new post op. And I had no problems shaving after my tummy tuck a couple of years ago, nor did I have any problems 2 weeks ago when I had my tube shortened. Like Jachut said, why not have a wax? Even if it only last's a few weeks (I was always lucky to get 3 weeks out of a wax) it might get you out of trouble if you have lots of port pain when you bend.
  8. Dr Copp is a keeper. In the 3.5 years I have been seeing him, I can't say I have ever had a bad visit. And the girls at the Ipswich office are awesome too.
  9. I said he was good people. Good luck guys.
  10. I think it was Benita who is away for a funeral on Friday (or at least that is what he said on the phone, he might be going too for all I know) Usually, you see Benita before you see Dr Copp. Good luck tomorrow. I love him to bits. Is there anything in particular you wanted to know about?
  11. It's not a problem till you consider turning the spare bedroom into a dressing room / wardrobe for your shoes and clothes due to the volume of clothes / shoes / handbags / ect. you own. Then, you have issues. Not that I would know, or anything (shuffles feet and looks away).
  12. 1. Depends on who you are with, and if it is considered medically necessary. With a letter from my GP to a reconstructive surgeon, my fund paid for a good chunk of my TT. 2. If my fund an Medicare had not paid anything toward my surgery, I would have been up for roughly $10,000 3. I waited till goal. I still ended up losing more weight after, but I didn't end up with new excess skin. 4. Nope. A good reconstructive surgeon will know how to deal with someone who was MO, and banded.
  13. Drink Mt.Dew with the jelly and bread and you should be okay.
  14. Unless your band is made of glad wrap, you are no faker!
  15. I had to fast from midnight Sunday night. Had my op at 5:30pm. I was one cranky b!tch. I ended up waking up at like 1am, and askng for some sandwiches, the nurse asked if I was sure, and I told her that it had been more than 24 hours since I last ate, and if she wanted to leave this room with all her arms and legs, she had better promise to bring back something for me to eat. I wouldn't last a week on the diet she describes. I doubt anyone who is sane would last any length of time. She does need help. And it's really very sad that no one around her can see it.
  16. She needs a smack in the size 6 head if she is saying in chat that her diet and behaviors are normal. It's like she wants everyone to be as unhappy as she is. It's insane.
  17. I never went through hell. I doubt most people will. I think that some bandsters *do* have real trouble with the restrictions the band places on them, and have even more trouble with the exercise that they must do in order to lose weight on healthy food. This is no warning.
  18. But, she is a "Sucess Story"!!!1! I would get slapped on the hand for saying what she really is.
  19. I have to admit that I am really glad it wasnt anything worse. Although I had my mind made up as to what I would do if it was an erosion. And I was pretty okay with whatever happened. It was just a weekend of codeine poping mind bending BS. On top of that a million other things are going on... It really did suck. But the surgery was really simple and quick, and the surgeon only had to open me up in two spots (one on the left just below my ribs, and my belly button) and he pulled out (he says anyway) about a foot of extra tube. It was sitting all curled up on top of my diaphragm. So it all worked out ok.
  20. I think a little of all three with a side serve of stupidity. Who BRAGS about it? Seriously?
  21. Nor mine. I almost passed out just after the 2km mark last night. Now, I am a fairly bright sort of girl. So why would I think that running less than 48 hours after a laparoscopicsurgery is a good idea? Now I am even *more* swollen and uncomfortable and by golly am I sore. Yup. Not one of my best moves. And you look super cute in the new running top Salsa!
  22. I have never had a PB with stomach acids. When I have puked, yes, then I have had that wonderful half digested - acidic puke taste. But as it has been explained to me, by a doctor, there is little difference between PB'ing and vomitting for the band. They are as bad as each other. That is why 99.99% of bandsters AVOID PB'ing. Now that I think of it, it sounds an awful lot like an eating disorder.
  23. Serial posting, I know... But holy numbnuts Batman! PB'ing is a tool, and it's ok to do it several times a day provided it's not a proper vomit? You have *got* to be kidding, right? How long till an erosion or slip?
  24. I have been offline for *days*, and even I know who you all are talking about.
  25. I think you will both be very happy with Dr Copp. He is a keeper.
