I'm sooooooo hungry!!! Today was the first day of my pre op liquid diet and I totally cheated, I ate some bread. Tomorrow is the second day and I'm only to have Clear liquids and then Monday morning is my surgery!!
I hope I didn't cause myself any major problems, I'm just so hungry even though I'm drinking lots of Water and I had my liquid meals. All of my usual cravings are kicking my butt right now.
Did anyone else slip on their pre surgery liquid diet? Did it cause any problems at surgery?
Will I be starving like this after my surgery?

My goal weight was 125 and I'm now down to 109. I just have days where I can't tolerate anything and even the smell of food makes me nauseous. The best advice I can give you is to eat Breakfast. I try to eat Cereal or oatmeal and that seems to help me eat more throughout the day. My doc wants me to eat something every 2 hours. I've not gone that route yet. I would like to get back to 115-120ish. Still wouldn't change a thing.

What are you eating? Have you tried upping your calories with healthy alternative to the "low carb/low calorie/low fat" rules? Even though I still do Protein first, once I hit goal, I started adding more healthy carbs and fat to my diet. Regular cottage cheese instead of nonfat, 2% milk instead of skim, more mayo in my chicken and tuna salad, real Peanut Butter instead of PB2, more whole grain Snacks, real juice and regular Lifewater instead of sugar free drinks, an occasional 1/2 bagel with cream cheese, sweet potatoes, etc. I'm 9 pounds under goal, but have managed to slow my loss to 1 pound/week.

Good Morning loves! So I hit my 1 year surgiversary 04/04/14. It's been one heck of a year but whoah have I grown. I feel like a new person. Not just physically but emotionally and mentally. I am more confident. More independent. More comfortable in my skin. All in all the best decision I've ever made. May we all continue to a healthier happier version of ourselves. I've attached a few shots from my modeling shoot I recently did. I'm a 33 year old mother of one. I have lost over 90 pounds. I'm not perfect but I am ME flaws and all.

Hey there, guys and gals! How is everyone this lovely night? Today I am 3 and a half months post vsg and I am down...75 pounds! Starting weight was 220 and my current weight is 145. My first bigger goal was 150 pounds. My ending goal is between 120 and 130 pounds (I am 5'2"). So, I have 15 pounds left to lose until I reach 130 pounds and I will just see how I look and feel from there. I am ecstatic with the weight loss results so far!!! I do want to warn you guys (a little late now I am sure) that there are skin pictures involved LOL! I have a sports bra and pants on. I only put a few on here. I have more on my profile page, and I also, just last night, uploaded a progress video of a bunch of pictures. Feel free to check it out on youtube...the title is very long, so you can just access it by typing in "72 pounds down" in the search and my video should be first. My name is "FindingMyselfAsIDisappear". If not, then just stop by my profile for more pics. Here are a few "in progress" pictures! Good luck to everyone with your journey!!! And if anyone else wants to post a progess update, please feel free!!! I love seeing how everyone is progressing!!!

So yesterday, my family and I went to beach. I put on my swimsuit then a nice sundress cover up. I had no intentions of taking the dress off. However, when I put my swim suit on I glanced in the mirror and thought I saw a reflection that just didn't seem to be me. She was attractive, young, and vibrant. That was an image that I had not seen for a while staring back at me.
Fast forward to the beach. We were taking pictures of the kids as they enjoyed their afternoon. Something came over me. I took off my sundress, jumped up and asked my friend to take a picture of me. I was so nervous as to what I was going to see. You see, often times when I look in the mirror and see one thing, when i see a picture of myself, I see something quite different. But this time, when I saw the pictures. I was amazed. The person I saw staring back at me in the mirror, was the same person in the picture. The young, beautiful, vibrant me. Maybe she is not what society defines as young beautiful and vibrant but screw you society. I love me and that's all that counts.
Here's to 83 pounds in 6 months and 40 more to go!

    Surgery weight was 295. I am 5 foot 10, 48 years young.
I have been at this weight a few weeks now so I think it is safe to say I met my personal goal of 187. Currently 184.6 and 26.5 BMI and around 24% body fat. My starting BMI was 45 and I was almost 50% BF.

The green dress is June 2013- a tight size 20 dress from Lane Bryant... The white jeans and polka dot shirt were purchased from the regular women's section at Macy's today, June 28, 2014, (I didn't even look at the plus size section and didn't think about going to a plus size store) - the jeans are a size 14 and the top an XL. This is 79 pounds down from last June (49 down from surgery on April 21st). The next ones are from various weddings over the last couple of years next to the photo from today. I'm still a work in progress, want to lose 70 more, but am feeling quite incredible, am so excited and wanted to share! I had so many doubts before surgery, thinking I couldn't do it, that I'd fail, but I'm feeling great, doing well and just generally am super positive and happy. I hope everyone else is having a great and positive experience!! Hana

So happy with the changes this has made in my life, heck, I'm a green belt in taekwondo now! Before surgery walking to and from my car was all the "exercise" I got! Not good with attchments, we'll see if this works.

Less two months till I finish with my 6 months stuff. My biggest worry is with insurance. My BMI is 37.5 with comorbidity of sleep apnea and possibly high blood pressure. My question is, has anyone dealt with GEHA or has anyone had any problems with them. If no problem, once six months was met with all requirements, how long did it take for them to approve? My sixth month will me early August and hope to have surgery early Sept. Thank you for any info that anyone can provide.

350 is likely your deductible. That's what mine is I have an 85/15 plan with an out of pocket max of 5000. So no matter what I wouldn't pay more than 5350.
