Docsdeb - the lump is really not very bothersome now that I know what it is. Don't make that factor into your decision please! Q for more experienced - does the feeling of restriction change - what is the sweetspot compared to this? I am trying to decide about my next fill. Thanks!

Thanks for the answers. I ate MUCH less at dinner tonight and the lump feeling is better - it is there but better. I guess I will try to eat even less next time. The problem is though, I don't get it until a bit of time after eating so it is hard to know when to stop! Thanks again.

I went to Europe 3 weeks after my surgery - I know it isn't at all the same thing but I was totally fine. The flight was no problem because my incisions were almost healed at that point. One thing to remember though is that you shouldnt do any heavy lifting for at least 6 weeks (suitcases I am thinking). Hope this helps! I would go for it - I am dying to go to India - also mushy food should be no problem there!

I had first fill on friday. Does not hurt at all - at least mine didn't. This weekend I have been on liquids/mushies and feel kind of burpy and like I have a lump in my throat. Nothing dramatic. I will eat solids tomorrow but I am sure hoping that I can't eat too much! Good luck.

I had my first fill yesterday with a fluoroscope - 4 cc in VG. Still on liquids.

jteastside - what size band do you have? Mine is a VG band and I think that the initial fills are bigger. Mine was done under a fluoroscope so I am hoping that this means that the doctor feels more comfortable giving me more to start with. I kind of have a lump in my throat now but maybe that is my imagination!

I just had my first fill yesterday (4cc) in 10cc. I am still on liquids but I feel like things are tighter if that makes any sense. Has anyone only needed one? Also, how soon have you been able to tell? I am assuming that I will know when I go back on solid food on Monday.

I had that for a few weeks. It is 90% gone 6 weeks post op.

I am supposed to do 2 days of liquids and one day of mushies following a fill.

I asked my surgeon this question and he said it is not a problem.

nail polish remover was the only thing that worked for me.

Chickie you are right. I had a check up today with Dr. and he said no problem with the fill on Friday since it is the first one and I lost the majority of the 18lbs during the first 2 weeks. I wore regular clothing and even kept my suit jacket on!

I think you mean your liver. Call your doctor's office and let them decide.

I would love to be 225 by T-Day - I think this is possible 15 lbs? What do you think? My current weight is 240 so the T-day goal would be 225.

I am having my first fill on friday and as of today I have lost a little over 18 lbs. Most of it was in the first 2 weeks (10lbs).

What number do you put down in your log? The doctor's scale? Do you put down the lowest number you see first thing in the morning? I can't decide how best to keep track ... any thoughts? I know it is not a right or wrong thing but was wondering what you guys do.

I barely ate anything my first 5 days but I was told not to worry about it at all but to just make sure I had at least a cup of milk a day.
