  1. :help: My cousin was banded the same month as me. I was April 2nd and she was banded on April 30th the major problem is that I have had a fill every month since being banded and have lost over 40lbs while she still remains unfilled. She has tried several times and had several failed appointments with her surgeon to get her first fill and it is almost 5 months since her surgery and she had gained all of her weight back. As to be expected she is highly upset and discouraged and mostly upset at the fact that she will have to literally start from scratch. I wanted to know if any of you have any information on a fill center in New York City or if it was possible that she find another surgeon to continue her Post Op care with it would be grately appreciated.
  2. This is a great question one i never really thought about. My follow up question is if this is a deductable item on tax returns does that only apply to self pay individuals? I can understand why that might be the case if the answer is yes but has anyone heard of a non self pay Lab Band Patient deducting the out of pocket pre & post op cost on their tax returns ?
  3. Dr. Fielding brought this subject up first and it was even printed in his post op / release paperwork he told us that it is all up to how we feel and that most people engage in sexual activities within a week. The response of wait at least until you leave the parking lot was hilarious and I have to be honest I was released the day after I was banded and had sex that same day. Like others said you just have to watch your incisions and your port site and maybe have to switch up your positions. Good luck your first attempt will be interesting.
  4. Having a drink is perfectly fine I also had Dr. Fielding as my surgeon and I was banded April 2nd and 12 days post op I attended a wedding and had a rum and coke which isn't my normal drink but I figured i would go easy and I felt fine with only one drink and a few bites of food which I chewed to no end lol.
