So I don't run, but I was cleared to ride my bike this week. Today I rode for a total of 24 miles!

kwigillingok reacted to OKSleever in You've got to be kidding me!
I agree with the previous poster; I hope you are much kinder to your BIL in real life than you were in this post. I'm glad things are going well for you, but you're a month post op! Most people don't start down the pizza and hamburger path a month out when food is still fairly repulsive.
You will face many challenges along your weight loss journey, and I hope you continue to face them with the same determination you have today. But if you don't, if you make a bad choice, I hope you are kinder and more forgiving of yourself than you have been of your BIL.

kwigillingok reacted to RDalton in September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!
Note to IMLooznit - I am sure you have good intentions, but in my opinion, it doesn't help to get your messages full of "screaming" caps, admonishments, and shouted directions, all supposing "bad" behavior from people that you don't know. I am glad you were successful in your weight loss journey. Please leave others to find their own paths unless they specifically ask for help. I believe most members of this site understand the behavior changes that are needed. Sometimes (and hopefully most times) good decisions are made, but everyone is human. Success will look differently to many people as well. I believe this forum should be for useful information, moral support, friendship and perhaps gentle guidance and suggestions, not for shrieking mandates.

kwigillingok reacted to PdxMan in If I ever author a book, it's going to be called "what's wrong with denial"?
It just makes me crazy, though, when I read a few of a the complication stories and a poster states, "If I would have known this was a possibility, I would have never been sleeved."
Really? You agreed to have 85% of your stomach removed permanently and you don't know what the possible complications are?
Denial is one thing but ignorance is something else.

It was a certainty that I was soon to die if I didn't deal with the fat...and quickly.
I did it.
The odds of complications seemed an acceptable risk given the circumstances.
I won.

kwigillingok reacted to LipstickLady in Has anyone ever tried eating food at one week out?
I wouldn't risk going against your doctor's recommendations under any circumstances. You can go without "real food" for as long as you need to to heal properly. Don't let your fat mind get in the way of your trying to emerge skinny body.

kwigillingok reacted to Butterthebean in I am now a master farter!
I don't fart any more than usual but I did notice during the first six months or so that my farts had that extra special ingredient which made them doubly potent. Now either they have gone back to normal, or everyone else in the house has lost their sense of smell. One thing I know something is killing all our goldfish. I wonder if they're like parakeets.

kwigillingok got a reaction from gamergirl in Too tight? too short?
I think the top looks great on you!
When I got my surgery date I ordered a t shirt that I saw online and since I was feeling optimistic I ordered it in XL, not only XL but a fitted XL. I've never worn a fitted t shirt in my adult life and haven't been an XL since middle school. It came in the mail the other day and when I saw how small it is compared to what I currently wear I couldn't help but wonder WTF was I thinking?
I can't wait to post my own too short/too tight picture!

kwigillingok reacted to Madam Reverie in Scared to death!
All I can say is Babe, you've dealt with Cancer. The rest of this is just sweating the small ****.
Be amazed at yourself for how far you've come. So what, you had a wobble?! I had a wobble! I was supposed to go in on the 2nd Sept, but had too much going on in my life and in my head, that I rolled it till the 19th Sept.
Yup, I'm 3 days out. I'm alive, I'm well - yes, I'm a bit sore - but I am very optimistic. This WILL change my life. And, if there are hurdles (which I'm sure there will be), then I'll cross those bridges when I come to them.
I know you say you have an addictive personality - but I think most of us food-lovers have a food addiction at some level. I hope to swap one shower of crap traits for a load of healthier and happier ones. Like, for example, wracking up extensive debt for all the designer clothing I shall be buying! Huzzah! (Only kidding - to a degree ). If you need more time, take more time. If you need to talk to someone - talk to someone. If you want to bounce ideas in this forum - we're all here and every viewpoint is valid.
However, it is important to note that no matter what is said - the decision ultimately lies with you. As it stands, I think you're amazing on many levels. Surviving cancer so courageously and baring your soul so openly and honestly on here being two of them. You're a survivor. Take a deep breath, weigh up the pros and cons like you had to do before, make your decision and be comfortable with it. Whatever you choose, we'll all be here rooting for you. xx

Hard, but exciting. Jump right in, because when you're much older, you'll be looking back on these times with a sense of wonderment and a dirty big grin on your face! Enjoy!

I don't have any post op pics yet, still too soon but you can see the weight loss just from the pre op diet in my face already.
Pic on the left is me at my highest weight and the one on the right is about 2 weeks before surgery.

kwigillingok reacted to WorkItOutWoman in Calorie confusion
Starvation mode is a myth for us fatties. We have enough fat stores to last through a game of thrones winter so take that out of your head. Are you on a PPI sometimes we mistake that for hunger. Get out of your head hunger.

kwigillingok reacted to gmanbat in Why are we sooooooo hard on ourselves?
Ya, you get the sleeve, the weight slides off, and in 6 months you look like Justin Timberlake or Katie Perry.
Not in the real world.
But people in pain want the pain to stop.....now. If you have ever had a gall bladder attack you know what I mean. Time stands still. Obesity is a world of pain.
If you've ever been in prison and had 3 days left....longest days in your life.
You have great hope of something wonderful ahead and you're like a kid saying,"Are we there yet?"
Stalls are frustrating, I understand the thousands of threads that get posted concerning them. They never bothered me but I am not like normal people, at least my wife says so.

Oh no, my scale calls to me. I hear it say Ella every time I walk into the bathroom! I'm just trying to ignore it because I know once I start, I won't stop.
