    Hi Paul,
I am 51 and I've lost 220lbs since getting sleeved 5/28 of 2013. I followed the plan given to me by my surgeon and I exercised as recommended. The key to sticking with exercise is finding something you enjoy doing - in my case, I rediscovered running and haven't looked back.
What a lot of people forget is that we have a limited window of opportunity after surgery (12 to 18 months) where the majority of the weight will come off. You want to maximize the opportunity by eating right and tracking and learning good habits so that they become second nature. The naughty stuff you used to enjoy will still be there once you hit maintenance and you'll probably be able to eat most of it. I want to emphasize that it is VERY possible to kill your weight loss mid journey, end your window far from goal, and be stuck trying to get the rest of your weight off. I know people in this situation, you don't want to be there.

That's very true. And wouldn't that hurt or bother any of us? We have all busted butt to lose weight and look good and feel good. While compliments have always made me uncomfortable. I still feel good inside when I get them.

Awesome NSV tonight.... Went to a Detroit Tigers game. I was walking ahead of our pack, or with the pack, and did not struggle in the least to keep up. Zipped up and down the stairs. Walked up steps in parking deck without feeling like I couldn't breathe. Wearing jeans that are now too big that I hadn't worn since 2008 - friends noticing how loose they were. And of course, sitting in stadium seat comfortably. Awesome night!

I saw my surgeon on Friday and he was happy with how things are going except he told me to exercise more and to stop my anti nausea medication because that makes you constipated so yeah.
Umm nothing else to say oh yeah in case you am wondering I am 10 weeks post op :-)

At least that's how she describes it, unfaithful to the old me.
My amazing, gorgeous wife has always said (and demonstrated!) that she thought I was attractive/sexy even when I was up to 327 pounds. Now I am 3 months post op and down 82 pounds to 245 and she is on me like white on rice!
Not that I mind but it is kinda funny to hear how conflicted she feels. She feels guilty when she tells me now that I look good and feels compelled to say, "I thought you looked good before, too".
Ah well, a nice problem to have. When I shed another 40 to get to my goal weight I may just have to fight her off with a stick to get some rest!

Is it just me or does it seem like we have a lot of really beautiful people on this site? Half the time I see women's avatars I think they are already post op and find out they are pre op.

The more I resist food anesthesia, the less tolerance I have for @$$#0\€$ in my life.
It's become clear to me that taking the WLS step was not just about me losing weight and getting healthy. It was about self respect and making life changes. It took a lot for me to get to the jumping off point. But now that I have started, I've set in motion something bigger than dropping some sizes.
Maybe that's why it took so long for me to take the WLS plunge. Because it's not all about the weight, is it?

BWaltD reacted to leep732 in Hello 3 months post op sleeve here!
Hi I am a 57 years young guy that wanted to stay that way. I gound myself one day three years back at 360 lbs I was shocked I had been laid up for over ten weeks from a leg surgery much better now. I immediately gave up all soda and really nothing else, in 4 months with the help of being active I dropped to 320. Two years ago I met the love of my life and she has motivated my to want to be healthier and to be able to do the things I used to and have never done on our upcoming honeymoon in Nov. We joined weight watchers together we started going to gyms, even zumba classes they fun. I lost but could not keep it off my leg hampered my activities. So Feb of this year to keep my new years resolution. I sought out the help of a Bariatric Surgeon. I committed to the Sleeve program and could not be happier. On March 5th I had the procedure done and am happy to say I am now down 55 lbs . I have not been under 300 in over 6 years. Its amazing feeling . Hope to gèt to know you all well thank you!

Hey guys! Just had to share. Blood work last week at my annual GYN exam. Hemoglobin A1c = 5.1 !!!!!!! It was 8.4 before surgery & I have had NO medication for diabetes since 1 day pre-op. All lab values are normal! Including my liver enzymes, which my PCP said would be the last thing to correct itself. When I showed my husband, he said, " you may have just saved your life!" This hasn't been easy, but every sacrifice is SO worth it! I feel so grateful & blessed!
