Ms.Yvette reacted to ItsMe2033 in Do I have the right to ask MD.....
I would only ask him about it if you think his answer will have an impact on your decision to use him as your surgeon. In order to do that, you should visualize asking him the question, and imagine different answers that he might give. Personally I can only imagine his saying something along the lines of "Yes it was a terrible mistake. We had gone to a party and I usually don't drink, but I had a couple of drinks and ...."
I can't visualize a situation where he says "Well I usually get drunk every Friday night, and that night I got unlucky and got stopped. And I usually have a drink or two before the surgery just to steady my hands."
Since I can't imagine an answer other than the first one, I personally wouldn't ask him about it, but you should certainly ask if you want to.

It is theoretically reversible. No one has done it yet. It also doesn't remove the portion of your stomach that creates ghrelin (I can never spell that right). So you will continue to have hunger. It is a good option for some people, but none of the options are perfect. You just need to pick the right one for you.

I just googled plication. Seems like a great option. I'm still skeptical about removing 3/4 of my stomach. Its reversible - which sounds a heck of a lot better. Got me thinking. Don't feel guilty for your choice. You did what made you feel more comfortable. As long as you achieve your goals, what does it matter which wls you went with. Enjoy the new you. Good luck. I would love to follow your weight loss journey.

A lot of other people have posted about jealous friends but your friend doesn't sound jealous, she sounds afraid of you dumping her once you change. This reminds me of a lot of spouses we read about on the forum who are afraid their mate will leave them when they get thinner. Especially if this has happened to her in the past, then her fear is understandable.
Sounds me to your friend could use a little extra TLC from you right now. I don't know about you but I do tend to talk about the changes in my life, my eating, my body, me, me, me, a lot more these days! Maybe just be aware of that and focus on her a bit more?
You're lucky to have a friend that values your friendship so much that the thought of losing it depresses her. Love, hugs, and attention from you should go a long way to reassuring her.

I'm am happier than a pig in ****. I absolutely love this site. So much information and so many wonderful and caring people. I'm glad I came across this post. I've been suffering head pain/migraines and I guess I'm in the beginning stages and was wondering about NSAIDs. I'm definitely taking notes on the medications listed in the posts above. Good luck to everyone. Thanks again.

I too have suffered from really bad, frequent Migraines for years and years, and was taking Imatrex for it. I was afraid after surgery I wouldn't be able to swallow the pill, so I got my dr. to prescribe me a Migraine pill that dissolves on the tongue - It's called Rizatriptan 10mg. However, I had my surgery on Aug 17th, and I have not had a migraine since the day before surgery. I haven't gone a month without a migraine in too many years to remember. I usually have two or three per month. Soooo... I haven't had to use my dissolvable pills, but they're there! I'm actually scared to think too much about not having migraines anymore for fear I'll jinx it! If anybody knows how this can happen, I'd love to know the reason.

You may want to talk with your dr to discuss options. My dr allows me to have caffiene now and has never said anything to me about not using NSAIDS but you need to ask why and if there are other things that you can use to help alleviate your symptoms.

I have suffered from debilitating Migraines for many years before my surgery and this was a big concern of mine. The good news is, I haven't had a Migraine since before the surgery. And if I get a migraine, I will take my prescribed medication like maxalt or zomiz and if they don't work, i will go to urgent care and get a shot of dilaudid. That's the plan I have. I am so thankful for not having migraines now.

Grazing isn't good. Make your meal, measure and log it and give yourself 30-45 minutes to eat it. When meal time is over, no more food until the next meal or snack. Make sure you are taking your PPI as acid mimics hunger and it could what you are eating that is creating the "hunger" you think you feel.
Are you drinking before/with/after your meal?

I've lost weight many times, and had lots of clothes altered. The thing is though, even altered, they are still my "fat clothes." I feel it holds me back. Go for the new life, and the new suit.

I am feeling a new suit.
That might just be me. I am not very sentimental about my clothes. In fact I can't wait to clean out my closet and replace all my FAT clothes with new stuff.
You can think of it this way...If you get a new suit, it can be the beginning of new sentimental memories. It will be the first new suit marking your weight loss journey.
