Where are all my May Sleevers?

Checking in.....sleeved may 22 and today down 77lbs. Feel like I've been hovering in the 70's for awhile now tho. No gains, so thankful for that! Only complaint I really have is that I'm still not tolerating meat....of any kind, shape, form or fashion. Havent been on here in awhile so not sure if others have had this problem. My staples seem to be my shakes, yogurt, nuts, and any soup not containing pasta or potatoes. Getting all my vitamins in, and diligent on the iron since the meat is a no-go. I am having dreaded hair loss but I've been taking 10, 000 mcg of biotin daily since a mth before surgery to prepare myself for that. So not too bad. Getting all fluids, bored with my menu, but otherwise feeling and looking GREAT

    gallbladder

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm 10 wks out and my dr put me on actigall after surgery, which I take twice a day everyday. Its suppose to help your gallbladder to 'not need' to come out. I'm wondering if anyone else was on it and still needed surgery? Or if it really works?

    May Sleever Roll Call

Just checkin in...almost 10 wks out and down 54lbs. Still not tolerating a lot of foods especially meat, but otherwse doing well. :-)
  4. I'm only 9 wks out but ill try to help. Yes, I think these dietary restrictions 'would' help anyone lose weight. The difference is how long can you follow these restrictions with a whole stomach and plenty of gherlin to boot? Me personally, I've done it ALL. Any diet u can name, I've done it. Low fat, low carb, pills, shakes, supplements, the list goes on. And yes, I lost. But never maintained, because eventually I got HUNGRY, and there was nothing stopping me from eating whatever I wanted to fill up. It was a viscous cycle of diets, hunger, guilt, weight gain, diet again. I'm 52 pounds down now in 9 wks. Not hungry. For once in my life im Eating to live and no longer living to eat.
  5. Hopefully its just a phase. And chicken used to be my staple in life. I could eat it at every meal! I have tried ground meat also, turkey meatloaf, chili...its still a no go. Cant do lunchmeat either. Just seems ALL meat makes me sick.
  6. I'm almost 9 weeks out and cannot tolerate it. I was cleared for fish after wk 1, chicken after wk 3, and pork and beef after 6. So I've had several weeks of attempting it in many different forms. The best way I can describe it is I get a knawing, nauseous feeling when I eat it. Not a satisfying feeling whatsoever and several times its just came back up! Yes its always been moist, I chew and chew to applesauce consistency, and wait between bites. Now its getting to the point of just smelling it or preparing mysef to eat it, makes my mouth water like I'm going to vomit. This is just REALLY strange to me. Before vsg I was a HUGE meat eater and now I feel like 'wth is wrong with me!?'
  7. Yes! Yes! And Yes! It seems everything for me has flip flopped. I used to be a big meat eater, especially chicken, could have it at every meal. Now, the smell or even thought of meat makes me nauseous. I'm still able to eat 2 or 3 shrimp and keep it down, but all other meats hit my stomach like a lead weight, and usually come right back up. And I've tried every kind in every way possible except fried. I'm only 8 wks out and hoping this gets better. Also Ive now become a fruit lover, before I hated fruit. Same thing with tea. Couldn't stand the smell or taste of it pre-op and now diet snapple is all I crave and can tolerate. My list goes on. I thought it was just me, glad its not

Where are all my May Sleevers?

Sleeved may 22 and down 46lbs as of this morning. I have definitely had my bouts with vomiting and I'm nauseous at least once a day. I was cleared for all foods at 6 wks with the exception of breads, pastas, and rice. But that doesn't seem to matter because I can only tolerate protein shakes ( and I use tolerate loosely), cheese, and yogurt. I've tried every meat in every way possible (not fried) and it makes me sick! Can't do eggs either. I get walking and swimming in occasionally but cannot fairly say I'm actively exercising. Just don't feel I'm getting enough calories in to do that yet. I did have hiatal hernia repair at the time of surgery, and my nutritionist says that may have a lot to do with me not tolerating a lot at this point. Overall, I'm happy with my results. Getting 50-70g of protein in and I'm finally able to get my liquids in also. Taking my vitamins too. And counting down the days to eating somewhat normal again.
  9. Hi jewelj, can please list what you are eating in a day? And I'm kinda confused, was your surgery 8 wks ago or when? What has been your TOTAL loss since surgery?
  10. Same here....huge STRONG coffee drinker. My diet said I could have decaf after surgery, tho after sugery I didn't really have a taste for it. Never really noticed any withdrawals, I guess the pain meds killed any caffeine headaches I may have had post-op. Did try the decaf a few times the first week but didn't care for it. By week 3 I was adding half caff half decaf into the pot. I have noticed I can't drink it nowhere near as strong anymore! Very little will have me jittery like a whole pot used to! Now at week 5 I usually mix like 2 oz of reg coffee into my vanilla shake in the morning, add ice and its like an iced coffee. For now that seems to be all I need to keep me motivated and free of headaches.

    May Sleever Roll Call

May 22. surgery weight was 299 and this morning was 260. Down 39 lbs! No more pain in my knees and back...woohoo! No stalls so far, but on the down side I havent decreased in a pants size yet either :/
  12. Thank you for everyone's input! That actually does give me a new perspective. Lol, I almost feel silly now. YES....they were stretchy. YES...I probably was hitting my maximum capacity in them (._.) But its good to know I'm not alone and that I will indeed put my 22's to rest soon.
  13. Thank you Miss Mac, that's my fear I think, that it wont GO... That I will be in onederland one day and still have this HUGE midsection requiring a 22!
  14. Yea, I actually do. My 22's certainly didn't have much growing room! I've just always heard, read, and I guess believed that 7-10 lbs generally contitute a size. Boy, were they wrong!
  15. No, I didn't I need to buy a tape. Surely I've lost inches somewhere, just not where I'd like I guess.
