If you can bring a small pillow to put between you and the arm of the seat. Some people use it to put between the seat belt and your incisions. I flew from San Diego to Tampa with a plane change in Denver. There was a LONG walk to change gates. Make sure you allow plenty of time if you have gate changes.
    Best wishes to you!

Thanks ladies and yes I was happy to meet him for round 2. I think I got him a little worked up over our texting this week cause he jumped me as soon as I sat down on the couch. I do like him. Before we had sex I did tell him about being sleeved, he asked if I was on the pill and I told him we still needed to be EXTRA safe, he was totally understanding, still haven't shown him my before pictures. He is a little older then me (by 6 yrs) and he is very different then the jerk (he was wham bam done while this guy is like a marathon, seriously 2 hours last time, it is better then the 30 day squat challenge) He is very giving and he loves to touch me. I thought I would be more shy about my wobbily thighs but he has no problems. My one girlfriend said it cause he is a guy and you are naked and that is all he cares about. I don't know if this is just a sex thing but I am having fun and so is he

Ok so I had to share this with some people who would understand. I haven't had sex in a VERY long time partly because I was just too shy because of how big I was. I had very low self esteem made worse by one a*****e who did a real number on me, told me I was lucky that someone would ever want me sexually and other terrible things...
So I was sleeved in November and I have been going out meeting guys. I am now down 102 lbs and I have been noticing guys checking me out which is freakin awesome and I am no longer shy...well I have been seeing this one guy casually, nothing too serious and long story short last night we had sex. First time I didn't feel the need to cover up my body before, during, or after. He was very good and kept saying how much he loved my body (seriously almost cried but held it together). It was great, but I am gonna keep it casual, don't want to be tied down(metaphorically anyway) yet. I want to date around a bit (I was very safe last night). This is going to be an awesome summer. For the first time I am feeling empowered and I love it

I was sleeved by Dr Almanza at the Jerusalem Hospital on June 7, 2012. I have lost 102 pounds. My experience was excellent. See some before and after pics below. Now, I am making plans for my hubby to go. If you have any questions for me just ask.

homersmomma got a reaction from raven123 in Back home from Tijuana
Well, I am back home from my trip to Mexico. I am going to try and give an honest review of my experience there and my thoughts about Having the Gastric Sleeve in Tijuana. I Arrived and called the coordinator about being picked up at the airport. I was picked up by the driver in a large black Cadillac Limo. Isn't that the way to go....Fancy. No wet bar, however. Joking. He took me directly to the clinic to do my EKG and get blood work. My first impressions, yes this is Tijuana, yes this is a strip mall with a porno shop and office max, and yes it is small. These are things I knew going in. Following the clinic I was told my pre surgery instructions my pick up time and taken to the Hotel in down town. It is a nicer upscale place. I will come back to that later. After a rough nights sleep due to jitters and all I got up showered and started waiting. I decided to go down to the lobby early to wait for my ride and I met another patient and her companion. I traveled alone, and I will say more about that later. We headed out to the clinic and got prepped for our surgeries . I got to be second that day. Honestly, I was scared and I nearly backed out up until the very end. But, if I wasn't worried and scared about something like this no matter where I was I would be crazy. Just think about it. I woke up in recovery feeling sore and groggy and knowing after this it would be all down hill. I was taken to my room to rest. Which I did with intervals of sitting up, coughing, gagging, walking and so on. Word to the wise here. having worked in a hospital, coughing is really important to help clear your lungs following sedation. Hold a pillow to your abdomen while coughing, vomiting, sneezing ect.. to avoid popping your stitches or staples. Besides your abdominal muscles are weakened. Do this at home also. I ended up staying an extra day as there were no surgeries scheduled so we got an extra day of IV fluids and This whole thing can go well in my honest opinion if you can advocate for yourself. Ask questions, Ask questions, ask questions. What is in my IV, what medicine are you giving me. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Now the clinic......it is clean, they are cleaning all the time. Have you ever heard of a cleaner called Fabuloso? You may want to familiarize yourself with that smell as they use that to clean. Some people are not affected by smells but once you have a gastric surgery you might be. There is an air freshener they use that can also bother you. Prepare for this. Most of the nurses are male there is one nurse, her name is Lupita and she is great she drew my blood with one stick and I admit that I am a hard stick. She started my IV with one try too. I hate being poked. However, most of the people taking care of you will be male. Learn a few useful phrases in Spanish it will be valuable to you n the long run. I and my group where taken to the hotel and shown to our rooms and I will tell you my one fear. I was afraid to eat or drink anything in Mexico because I did not want to get sick. I have heard of people getting sick from something in the Water. I did bring bottled American water to brush my teeth with and drink. Maybe that's just me. The restaurant is adjacent to the lobby of the hotel and I could not stand the smell. There is a nurses station with a direct line and you can call them with whatever you need. Such as changing your dressings after you take a shower or if you need pain medication or if you have any questions. I almost forgot the leak test. They give you this tasty blue Fluid to drink and then off to the radiology center where they hand you a cup of barium to drink, that stuff was terrible. But no leaks.

Hi, to clear things up.. when I had my surgery with Dr A. I never had any compltions, I felt safe and had a very good out come.. I just thought in a more traditional hospital setting. I would of received more one on one time.....it was just kind of small and cramped..

I had Almanza. 4 months ago. He was great, I felt safe the whole time, the staff was excellent, and I was never afraid of the surgical center vs. the hospital. Everything went very smoothly and I would not hesitate to recommend him.
I had no issues at all after surgery and I think he did a great job. I have a sleeve that will tolerate anything I put in it and he must have stapled/sewn me up real good on the inside because this thing does not stretch and it does not hold much at all.
A lot of people seem to have doubts or reservations about Almanza, but from my perspective they are unfounded. You will most likely get some links to horror stories or someone will tell you that he is a 'dangerous man'. Not true and if you poke around enough you will find unpleasant stories about most any doctor - foreign or domestic.
It was fine and he will give you exactly what you ask for.

I only told my immediate family and no one else. My medical history other than my neurosurgery is my business. I had one family member remark about my weight loss and stated before I could say anything, that she knew people who had surgery and are now gaining their weight back. She said all of this before I got out a word as I was getting dinner at a family affair. She made a comment about how little I had on my plate and that she's a big girl and that was her snack portion. No wonder she weighed at least 325 and went on to say she loves food too much to have surgery. Sometimes a smile from you and someone with a big mouth will save you from saying anything at all.
Btw- she talked so much I never had to answer the question and went back to the table with my wife to eat. Good luck to you.

I decided not to broadcast my choice to anyone outside of my immediate family. I have head a lot of negative opinions by my friends and associates how wls is an easy way out. I wish that were true. I am having a surgical procedure to help me achieve something I cannot do on my own. It's just a tool in my tool box that I intend to keep to myself.
