Hello cbware, I turned 51 on Aug. 31 also. I will be sleeved on 9-16-13 and can hardly wait. I need to start eating healthy and quit eating all these good old southern foods that we were raised up on. lol Good luck to you and so happy about the weight you have already lost.

Pleas do start eating healthy It will make your transformation much easier and your surgery will go a lot easier. Oh yea Happy Belated Birthday!!

I turned 50 in August and I had my surgery on the 3rd of September. I guess that I can consider this a much belated birthday present to myself.

Hi everyone, I'll be 51 in October. Got the sleeve on Sept. 6th. Day 4 and I'm hungry, sick of fluids, grossed out by most of them. What to do? Spoke to the dr. office nurse and dietician separately. Dietician recommended wonton soup (minus the wontons and shredded pork). I'm getting some tomorrow. I actually feel hungry and wondering what did I just do to myself? I need strength and I'm praying for it but this is sooo much harder than I thought it would be. I thought there wouldn't be any hunger. Anyone have any helpful hints?

If you feel hungry, it might be just acid. If you aren't on a medication, get one. Worked for me at that stage.

By medicine the previous poster mean a PPI like prevacid or Prilosec. I'm on 1 2x a day for the first so months prescribed by my surgeon (over the counter type). Also I was on full liquids for 28 days but it was so worth it for my new little tummy! My husband sleeved 3 weeks after me was only on them for 2 weeks and had a tougher time while trying new foods could be our bodies being different or the variance in diet progression. So just take it easy and mix it up as best you can. One of my favorites was clam chowder strained with unflavored or chicken flavored protein added in.

Keep up the great work everyone!! ...and Happy Birthdays! ????????????
